Actually I take that back. After reading and thinking, the counter from the 17gb update was there but the actual update was small. For some reason it thinks it's finishing the 2.0 download.

Making breakfast real quick.

Woke up in the middle of the night and did the first mission and the stormcaller mission. I had a bunch of bounties to turn in, plus a few packages, plus the commendations. In combination with the red bull code, I already am lvl 40, so that goes fast, be forewarned. I haven't come close to maximizing the class though.

Also, I did not get my Laurea Prima (MoT) emblem until I completed the subclass mission for Warlock. Don't know if it is tied to that or when it went live a little later than launch

well level 40 was easy. I redeemed a Red Bull code then cashed in 16 bounties i had stockpiled from the last 3 days and jumped from 34 to 40 instantly.

now time to grind for gear

anybody know when the marks come back?

fortunately for you the quest chain becomes available for everybody on Jan 1.

But it's not like the price of Red Bull went up.

I bought it for the 50% EXP bonus, which was awesome. The quest chain I didn't even know about until after I redeemed the code.

So when I get the Taken King if I'm a level 30 Hunter and have always been a Hunter Gunslinger class, doesn't it give you a gift level up to 25 or something on a different class? So which class should I free level up on for a new character? Which is better long term? Titan or Warlock?

I haven't played since before the House of Wolves expansion, so am I going to be able to jump right into The Taken King?

If so, am I missing anything by not playing any of the House of Wolves content?

TTK basically starts everything all over again. Some of the stuff you did and earned from year 1 carriers over, but for the most part you're starting fresh anyways.

It's weird to be collecting green engrams again and actually using them

Any of the other PvPers want to get together and form a six-man Rift team later? Awesome game mode, just not with idiot randoms. I'm picturing us having a designated runner and the other five just wrecking.
