City look disjointed. Might take them some time to gel after letting several starters leave
Darwin free in on goal but hits his shot right into City's keeper's face.
Goal given to City. Thought Foden looked onside but I also thought the ball got kicked out of Adrian's hands. Oh, well.
Trent has helped generate several good chances for City today not being quick enough to track with his man.
PK to the reds for a super obviously handball. And Mo buries it. 2-1.

I really like Carvalho off the bench too. He's going to be a huge depth guy for us this season.
That was a fun game. Loved pretty much everything. Happy with (and for) Nunez.
Kits have grown on me. I generally like simple and traditional looking uniforms, not sure why I was so down on them last spring.
Would like to see Haaland struggle a bit, not really for bad sportsmanship/rivalry purposes but really so City just doesn't just get whatever they want because they have $$$$. Subtle distinction in my mind.

First trophy of the year!
We apparently played a final friendly today vs Strasbourg at home. Played mostly our teenagers and James Milner and lost 3-0. I watched zero minutes.
Jota signed a new 5-year contract

Putting my kids to bed last night and my 5.5 year old daughter asked if she could get up and watch Liverpool with me. As I was sneaking out of my bedroom at 605 she met me at the top of the stairs.

Promising signs from Nunez and Elliot. The midfield and Trent had pretty poor games. If Thiago is out for a while, this could be a rough start to the season.

We didn't play well today at all. Got bullied and out worked. Feel pretty fortunate to get a point.

This is where I am. Fulham played really well. Jedi did a good job of containing Mo, especially in the first half. Trent looked poor. Excited about Nunez. Unlucky not to score off of the Hendo or Diaz goals and the penalty was really week.
And someone really needs to sit Harvey Elliott down and tell him that he looks ridiculous.
Yeah, the penalty was such a letdown as we'd been pushing really hard for a winner right prior to it. Mitrovic was always going to throw himself down and even though VVD made a slight bit of contact I can't see a foul. Ref got fooled and VAR wasn't going to overrule him either way.
Can't believe that penalty call but one crap call doesn't explain the lack of fire in the team. I was very surprised.
I was really hoping for a 38-0-0 record but I'll just settle for 37-0-1!

As long as the kid can play, who cares what he looks like?!
Like everyone has said, we really got outworked and outhustled this weekend. Second best in most areas on the pitch. That being said, no one wins the league on the first weekend and we have plenty of time to string some results together. But as we've seen these last 4ish seasons, the margin between us and City is so small. Any points dropped feels like a loss. Haaland, by the way looked sensational. So much speed & power. He is scary good.
