I don't have the details, but they should be out there. Essentially anyone receiving a barrel from the SPR has to agree to replace that barrel with 1.25 barrels.

Also, it seems Team Biden keeps on giving as one of the SPR facilities is offline because critical maintenance was jot done. Like the border walls, critical components left in fields to become unusable.

Trump is fixing it but it will take time.

Looks like strikes in Iran are continuing today. We should continue with that until Iran has nothing left and capitulates. Gas prices will be incredibly low once that happens.

Iran has been anti-USA since 1979. I don't think we can bomb them into

Handing off a war he started to the next administration will not bode well for anyone on the right hoping to win the '28 election.

Also, back to gas prices, one can't imagine how much higher prices will be if they're high now and that's because we still have some reserves feeding the pipeline.

Can someone who knows, post about the difference in heavy crude vs. sweet, the regulations that have not allowed new processing of heavy crude since 1970's, and the effect that the persuaded FJB reserve dump has played on prices to the everyday consumer?

The Afghans twice were bombed into obliteration and never surrendered despite a lot of economic, political and personal hardship. The Iranians know they can easily hang on until the midterms and likely until after 2028 knowing American opinions on the war aren't high now and will likely go lower just like what happened in Afghanistan.

In other words, I don't see a scenario where they capitulate even if we bring their economy to its knees. You notice how there are virtually no reports of protest in Iran since the war started. They did an effective job of quashing internal discontent by murdering 10s of thousands of their people and likely more like 100s of thousands.

The problem is that the extra $$ that we pay at the pump don't help get rid of the IRGC. Those dollars don't go to our military, or arming resistance or anything else. When this is all over are you really going to sit down and say "I spent $500 more on gas over the last year or so, but it was worth it because the IRGC is significantly degraded"?

And it isn't just gas. It's all things we consume. But hey, we have "conservatives" essentially telling us we need to pay our fair share so Iranians might be free.

Can you define war? Did Congress? Did the US Constitution?

I think a lot of people skipped government and history.

The concept was that US Congress would have the ability to "make war". This was changed to "declare war". Since then, it's been a crapshoot as to what "war" means.

The general concept is that if it's going to be a wide war, as in battle of 1812, WWI, WWII it was pretty clear that broad changes and a different "operating" environment would be needed in times of true broad conflict.

Things short of that are military actions or use of force that is generally regarded as anything short of the above.

In an attempt to reign in these military actions, Congress has attempted the WPA which is messy, also does not include proper definitions, and has never been adjudicated before the SCOTUS.

As such, POTUS do not feel "bound" by this "law". Under our system of separate but equal, POTUS can ignore laws that he believes are unconstitutional.

The appropriate way to address that is first through SCOTUS. Then if SCOTUS says it's a-ok, then Congress is left with a singular option, which is to impeach, convict and removed.

So, Trump is well within his authority at this point in time, unless someone decides to challenge it in court and then impeachment.
