Combined with people giving me sh*t a few days ago, as if I were waiting with bated breath to hate it/pounce on it every Wednesday after midnight, when that couldn't be further from the truth, I simply felt the need to say something, that's all.

I think he said he had married someone who was Force Sensitive and that the Empire came for her and took her. That scene seemed like it had been edited way down though because it was definitely a quick turnaround.double aught said:
What was up with that weird convo between Ben and O'Shea Jackson? He's adamant about not getting involved and then all of the sudden is like "ok, I'll help"
It might not be your thing, but if you ever watch Straight Outta Compton, he plays his dad in that movie and you feel from the first moment like they just de-aged Cube.jr15aggie said:
Had no idea that is his son, but I did immediately think 'that guy looks like Ice Cube' during the episode. Add it to the list of things that make me feel old!

Wade and the female pilot were introduced during the part when they were talking about how to infiltrate the Inquisitor base. Reading between the lines it looked like they were involved romantically, or at least close. So for the pilot that survived - Sully, it's the the thrill of scoring a victory against the Empire tempered by the loss of someone close to you, pretty much what the Rebels have to live with over and over again, jokershady said:
I'm pretty sure it was addressed but just had this thought….
Who the hell was Wade? Did I miss something from earlier was this a character we were introduced to that I just can't recall?
Who was Wade and why should I care that he's dead?

Yeah, all of these plot failures being pointed out were pretty glaring. It was pretty horrible. I finally watched it, basically out of morbid curiosity. What a wasted opportunityjokershady said:

Do we think the makers of Bacta have to disclose on their commercials that it gives you terrible nightmares?

It's like Chantix.
Just my opinion, but I think the current leadership at Lucasfilm is focusing heavily on young females and isn't focusing nearly as much about reaching young male audiences. I think that could be said for Disney in general right now, especially when you look at many of the new Marvel series and new MCU films. And I absolutely loved WandaVision and Hawkeye...the way they developed Wanda and Kate Bishop left me wanting more...those were home run efforts. Other things haven't been as impressive.Quote:
Young males don't want to see a series about Kenobi babysitting a ten year old girl. Young to teenage girls don't care about SW (for the most part), especially a series about some old fart Jedi from the 70's. I just can't figure out what audience they think they are targeting this for.
I get it. But I think the young Leia storyline is intended to appeal to the younger female audience.Urban Ag said:
My point isn't about the casting of female characters, including leads. My point is that so much of this series is just too childish. You can attract younger men and women with strong female characters (see Rogue One) but you're going to quickly turn off the male audience (of all ages) with Ben Kenobi's Daddy Day Care.

While we are looking at South Park comparisons, would it be fair to say that Butters has a better grasp of the criminal underworld than bounty hunter Boba Fett?

I don't think they wrote this with some kind of master plan to appeal to some mysterious audience, I think this is just the best they could come up with and it sucks.
