Through 1. Nice start.
Surprised to see Alderaan and little Leia. But a welcome one, for sure.
The forest chase was almost as bad as the Vespa gang street chase.
Flea plays a scumbag real well.
Burying the lightsabers feels like a retcon to EP9's ending.

Ep 1:

Right off the bat with the Order 66 opening, fantastic.

Alderaan! I knew we'd see Leia but didn't expect how much of Alderaan we'd see. Loved that we saw the exact same balcony where Bail and his wife are sitting at the end of ROTS.

Nice little tease for Qui-Gon. We undoubtedly hear him at some point.

Did NOT expect to see Flea in Star Wars.

Enjoying the new theme but I hope at some point they start integrating in the classic themes we all know, when appropriate. Really thought we should've heard the Force theme at the end when he pulls out the lightsabers.

Gonna hold off on ep 2 till tomorrow morning. Good night y'all.

Through first two episodes. Maybe its just me…I feel like Moses Ingram was miscast for this. She's a fine actress…was great in Queen's Gambit…just feels like she's not nailing down the sinister villain very well. Rupert Friend on the other hand is great.

Yeah I think they're definitely going for out of control rage but it doesn't quite land right. But it's not horribly either because she seems to actually be a pretty good actor

Haven't watched yet either, but I've echoed this same sentiment here more than once…



I've engaged in countless arguments on this board, in favor of diversity in casting, but this is almost certainly an instance when it's going to work to a disadvantage; where we know almost beyond a shadow of a doubt *how* they're going to use her, and thus what the limitations of the character will be. You want to be truly progressive, *actually* cast her as the main villain. And who knows, maybe they'll surprise us, but I seriously doubt it.

Is this a talk freely thread? Cause I'm about to talk freely…

Starting off episode 1 with order 66…. My goodness, after what just happened the other day, that was just bad time that no one could have expected and doubt they could have cut it out. It actually gave me chills :-(

I loved getting to see little Leia and Bail Organa. I've always liked Jimmy Smits as an actor. When Flea showed up I laughed out loud. Like that was the best actor you could get? But good for him in landing the role.

And just when I thought Flea was funny, next up is Kumail… all I see when I look at him is not Star Wars. But it was kinda funny that he was scamming people as a fake Jedi.

You have a Grand Inquisitor, and you ax him off by the end of the 2nd episode, seemed pretty lame. I'm not a fan of sister 3, I don't even know her name or why I should care about her. Her character did not gain my attention. I liked the other inquisitor, the Asian guy with the helmet. I barely know anything about him and he seemed a heck of a lot more interesting.

Cameo by c3p0 was fun. And I love the spunk and sass of Leia when talking to her cousin. I was not expecting Temuera Morrison to make a cameo appearance as a clone trooper down on his luck, I got really excited when I heard the voice. I'm assumed are in the era now where storm troopers are back to just random people enlisted in the Empire.

I didn't love the episodes, didn't hate them… just meh… I always welcome any live action Star Wars regardless. Looking forward the first time Ben lights up that blue saber!!! I wished these were done by Jon Favro and company because these just seem off compared to all their Star Wars contributions.

That little girl is absolutely nailing Leia, loving the snark coming from her. Ewan is great, of course, and Joel Edgerton really hitting on the curmudgeony Owen we knew from the OT.

I am with a few of y'all on not being completely sold on the Third Sister being as sinister as she's trying to put forth. Could be the actress trying to play something she hasn't really done before or could be intentional, her character trying to oversell herself. I did thoroughly enjoy her in that last scene, and definitely didn't see them killing off the Grand Inquisitor so quickly (though it is on brand for an Inquisitor to be that bad at his job). I also found her rooftop parkour a bit cartoonish in the way it was portrayed, not to mention the fact that she was that close and couldn't catch up.

Definitely enjoyed it as a whole, looking forward to more.

I really thought to myself about 15 minutes into the first episode that I'll be pretty disappointed if they do the whole redemption thing with the 3rd sister, but it definitely seems like it is going that way. She'll have some redemptive moment where she helps Kenobi (and is probably killed by Vader) and it'll bring some solace to Kenobi that he wasn't a failure.

Little Leia is killing it. Love the comment about how she reminded him of her mother.

Not a fan of the casting of Kumail. He just doesn't really fit. Seems like one of those things where an actor begged to be in a Star Wars project and they obliged. Felt forced.

I do need some more of the original score in this. I really wanted some piece of Leia's theme and like mentioned earlier, The Force theme when he digs up the lightsabers.

Overall, still really digging it. Wish there were more than 6 episodes.

This. Just felt like he was in a different show than everyone else (similar to Eternals but that movie had all sorts of other problems too). I had similar thoughts on the 3rd Sister in the first episode, just seemed they were going too far to make her seem tough/an outsider amongst the Inquisitors, but it was better in episode 2.

I love how they used Leia to get Obi-Wan off Tatooine and back into the galaxy. I'd much rather this show focus on Obi-Wan and Leia than Obi-Wan and Luke, but given that they retooled the show to cut down on similarities with Mando I assume Leia won't be in too much more. I thought the prequels really underutilized Alderaan so that was great to see as well.

Also, always good to see Needles again. He should have called Obi-Wan chicken.

Ok so I take it we're all good with no spoiler tags...

Enjoyed episode two, though it felt pretty short.

Absolutely loving the Leia casting. The attitude is very Leia-esque. I wasn't sure about her when she was first on screen but I'm into it now.

I hate seeing Obi-Wan struggle so much just to stop Leia from hitting the ground, but I understand he's rusty and hasn't used the force in 10 years. SO ready to see him really get back to his old self in the next few episodes.

Did NOT expect to see Anakin/Vader so early. That ending basically made the whole episode for me. Such a great moment.

So the big question for me is, Rebels spoilers: the Grand Inquisitor is in Rebels, is he not? So that must mean he's still alive. I take it that is meant to make the non Rebels watchers think he's dead, but since we know Rebels is canon...that's not the end of him, right? If I had to guess, he re-appears and ends up taking out Reva at the end.

I don't think the Grand Inquisitor is dead. If he's supposed to be the same character as the one in rebels, this is way too early - chronologically speaking - for him to die. Leia was like 14-16 in rebels.

Thanks, forgot to mention that. LOVED the Padme reference there. At first you think he's taking about Anakin. Didn't expect to get her referenced at all, so that was a pleasant surprise.

The Grand Inquisitor is alive. Pretty sure we see him in Fortress Inquisitorius in one of the teasers. I'm assuming it's some kind of plot device to sideline the GI from chasing down Obi Wan.

Oh and I loved the Jawa. They are probably my favorite alien species in Star Wars. The first time I saw kids cosplaying as Jawas at SWC I was so happy.
