No doubt. I'm not saying it's not true. Certain people have absolutely crossed the line and accused others here of racism, for not like something "black" in entertainment (be it a movie, actor, etc), when it's obvious the accused isn't being racists.
That said, there are those of us who have seen multiple racists comments and innuendos posted at F16, like, say, calling Michelle Obama a monkey (something I've seen more than once), so when someone who frequents F16 posts here, and uses all the go-to anti-lib/anti-woke/anti-BLM language/etc language, and it's someone who's also ragging hard on a black actor or whatever, it's *sometimes* hard not to make assumptions. Personally, I do my best to never go there. And by no means am I saying libs, woke-ness, or the more militant aspects of BLM shouldn't be ragged on.
I'm just saying, in this day and age, when you throw a bunch of super-hard-right folks together with some entertainment-loving people who might have, like, half a pinky toe dipped in the liberal pool, the accusations are going to fly on both sides.
Case in point, the amount of times I've been called a marxist, pedophile, or evil by certain F16ers, for simply not liking Donald Trump as a human being, even though I'm almost assuredly voting Republican next election, is just as ridiculous. It goes both ways.
okay dude, let's just do this. Here's my high level background. Conservative white male that has been married to a woman of color for well over 22 years, have two amazing sons with her, and she is my moon and stars.
Now go:
Calling Michelle Obama a monkey is weapons grade terrible. Understand your point on "assumptions" but F16 has a really solid base of great people that don't tolerate this **** and a smaller base of "drive by's" that stir redneck crap like this. The problem is to know who are real, who are bots, and who are trolls. I can tell you as the father of two teenage sons, the interwebs is their playground and stirring **** for laughs (immature I know) is a thing.
Fair enough on your point of F16'ers comingling with the more lib leaning entertainment board. I get it. I've tried to avoid it myself. I have failed sometimes. But I will invoke the greatness of Michael Jordan here. Republicans buy my shoes too. LOL. Clash is inevitable. I am just saying we need to halt the irrational assumptions and labeling.
Trump. Good lord. My wife is a very conservative Latina who refused to vote at all in 2016. I held my nose and voted Trump but only to vote against Hillary. He is not a good person. I had no idea how this jackass would actually lead. I waited in line for three hours to vote for Cruz in the primary because I was terrified he would actually get the nomination. And I am not a huge Cruz supporter. I was absolutely shocked Trump was leading. My dad is a Reagan era die hard Republican and absolutely hates Trump but also voted twice for him as a vote against the lunacy of the democrat party. I guess my point is that so many of us simply did not like Trump but liked his policies. His policies are good for the country. But there is no question he is a complete inner focused ass hole with absolutely no sense of self awareness. None.
The die had Trump supporters were latched on to a particular nativist doctrine that struck a cord with them. The rest of us just really liked the the pro economy / America first / less govt intrusion in business vibe. It's really not that hard to understand but we've made it so bad that people burn down cities over it.
