Gotta do our best to keep an open mind for the rest of the episodes, but I think I would say this is not up to the standards we should expect so far.
I dont know if its a budgetary issue, or the show runner issue at this point.

The overall story is not bad, I dont think. I like the idea of where the universe is at at this point, and where Obi-Wan is at mentally.

Why is everyone surprised when people say racist things on the internet? It's a troll go-to insult as old as any forum/social media/etc and judging a whole fanbase on it is dumb. ***holes gonna ***hole and you can find them in every group or fanbase.

As for the show, it's hard to judge the premier season of something until you see the whole thing. I think that's why I prefer shows releasing entire seasons at one time instead of on a week-by-week basis... less time to nitpick or overthink things before there's (hopefully) a payoff. This Vader/ObiWan cat and mouse game is going to go on a while, I'm all for the build.

This is also why I don't usually read these threads on texags because damn if I don't notice more flaws in the show every time I do.

Another thing I liked -- Vader's voice was spot on.

Rogue One was shaky, with the much older sounding JEJ.

This was literally right out of ANH or ESB.

It was going along ok, then they turn kenobi from a depressed jedi to an incompetent bumbling moron, then into a shrieking coward. Completely made a farce of ep iv. Boring poorly filmed supposedly 'epic reencounter' with both acting completely illogically. Literally nothing that happened made any sense or had any logic at all. No good visuals. No good music. You cant make something this bad by accident. They are trying to mangle the franchise more for whatever reason.

Admittedly the funniest thing to me was right after fumbling with the laser gate, they show an aerial shot with a clear open area to walk around the gate. Could've been out of a parody.

I really thought it had been done on purpose, like the guy running right into the branch while chasing Leia.

I also have to admit the planet from this episode was super boring and ordinary looking. Not Star Wars-y at all.

I'm hoping they're saving the budget for the second half of the season.

Inquisitor base looked amazing.

Wow... these episodes have progressively gotten worse. What a complete let down of a confrontation that should have been taken very seriously.

Nothing in this episode made any sense. Obi Wan is a freaking bumbling buffoon, and Vader has complete control of the force one second, and then can't muster enough power to force throw a robot, the next.

Such a disappointment.

Yes, because it was so incredibly stupid to watch. Not sure what Stormtrooper aim has to do with two grown dudes not being able to catch a small child after 5 steps. This just feels like a high school film project.

This is really bad. Ewan McGregor is the only one that seems to be worth a **** as an actor in this show, and even the writing is making him somewhat boring. I couldn't give a **** if the non vader bad is a black chick, her character is hollow, boring, and pretty much every scene she's in I roll my eyes or lol. They've wasted 3 episodes so far, I'm not confident in the last 3.

They fell on their face with the obi wan/Vader confrontation.

I watch this with my eight-year-old son. He enjoys it. Its nice father-son bonding time. I don't know what else to say.

Except Vader force dragging poor *******s out of their shacks and snapping their necks was pretty baller lol

Oh my gawd, I am watching episode 2 and they have another chase scene with the little girl and Obi-wan can't catch when he is two feet away. Cue the cheesy exciting music and we are off for another intense chase scene. I told my wife I will finish this episode, but I will be in the other room if she wants to keep watching it. I wasted too much time on Boba Fett, not gonna make the same mistake twice.

I actually think the encounter makes some level of sense. Anakin/Vader is disappointed that the Obi Wan he built up in his mind is no more. Obi Wan is just trying to stall long enough to let Leia escape. He knows he's no match for Vader right now. Anakin more or less lets him escape.

He's like the hunter realizing his prey isn't up to the challenge he's built up in his mind.

That's what im telling myself anyway.

That was kind of the point no? Vader has been basking in the dark side all these years. It would be like asking Brady to take 10 years off no working out or practice and expect him to win the super bowl.

That's the only thing that makes sense to me for how it ended.

But it also has the distinct feeling of "stalling to get three more episodes". I almost wish they just spoke before Obi-Wan somehow escapes, without the fight.

And based on what Vader says to Obi-Wan in ANH, we know he has to win the next duel.

He's got a hell of a lot of ground to cover in three episodes as far as shaking off the rust.
