I just got through it (purposeful language).
The overall idea was fine, the execution was just not good. Most of my issues with it were mentioned, but the kid is smarter than the parents trope is awful, the force used when it helped the plot, ignored when it didn't, Vader goes across the entire universe to find this guy, and says "well he's under some rocks, must be dead", Planes Trains and Automobiles on getting back to Alderaan when they had a few chances to just go. But then we wouldn't have had 6 episodes…Obi Wan flies all the way to Alderaan at the end and stays like 3 minutes and leaves? Third sister killing Jedi because she's mad at a guy for killing Jedi?
And for the canon…Leia reaches out to him in ANH and mentions the clone wars, but not that? Nor any other character ever brining it up.
But the kicker for me, they finally had a mostly decent episode with 6 (outside of no one truly killing anyone over and over again), and I was waiting for the SW end credits theme, it would have redeemed so much for me…and noooo……
The pathetic part is I would still watch a second series if it comes to pass. Such is the life of a Star Wars fan I suppose. Just enough to bring back the joy of childhood that you can't quit it.
