Obi-Wan is the first force ghost we ever see, so at the very least we will see how he learns how to do it from Qui-Gon, or expands on what he learns from him to lead him to that ability.

Well that's crap, it totally breaks canon established in ROTS when Obi-Wan is shocked to learn he can communicate with Qui-Gon.

I will choose to ignore that.

According to comments on this YouTube video, it's not actually a force ghost, but rather a vision from their memories. Like Han in TROS.



So technically, no force ghost Qui-Gon as of yet.

We wont know until we find out how the force ghosts work, I guess. Does it require something from both people for the force ghost to appear, or can they just do it whenever they want to whoever they want

If I remember correctly, the mortis stuff was all visions generated by the 3 beings that lived there...but either way when they left mortis they had no memory of anything that happened there. So even if it was a real force ghost, which I don't think it was, Obi-Wan would still be surprised at the qui-gon news, bc he doesn't remember ever going to mortis

I posted this above. That's my point -- Qui-Gon has never appeared as a force ghost, much less to Obi-Wan.

And this is exactly why we WILL see or hear him.

Obi-Wan will have to learn how to actually become a force ghost between now and ANH, from Qui-Gon.

Episode should start with Qui-Gon's ghost watching the duel of Episode 3 on tape and laughing his ass off at Obi'Wan's performance.

"And here he comes, and look at you, turning your lightsaber off and running away!" Good form!"

I just realized Episode 3 puts Obi-Wan's dueling record outside of the cartoons under .500.

TPM: 1-0 (Maul)
AOTC: 0-1-1 (a push with Jango, defeated by Dooku)
ROTS: 2-1 (defeated by Dooku again, kills Grievous, defeats Anakin)
OWK series: 0-1 defeated by Vader
ANH: 0-1 defeated by Vader

Show has been pretty meh so far. Like seeing Ewen in the role again, but I think the series is going to end up as very forgettable. Just another example of how Star Wars has no new ideas and is terrified to try to move beyond the movies and tell original stories.
