Makes me wonder if the prophecy was a self-fulfilling prophecy, where training Anakin would always lead to that result, or if Qui-Gon surviving would have led to a different result.
I think it's incredibly likely that if Qui-Gon trains Anakin, he is able to channel/control his rage much better, and there'd be far less tension between him and the council.
But it makes me wonder if he still marries Padme. And if so, would he still become Vader? That's kind of the huge question for me.
It's really kind of unanswerable, but I think his sense of attachment was too rooted into him from before he became a Jedi. Yoda was right when he said he was too old to begin training.
But back to the self-fulfilling thing -- if we don't get Vader, does the Empire ever rise and fall? I think it probably still rises and never falls. Dooku would still have to die to keep up appearances as the leader of the Separatists, but maybe Palps never gets another apprentice after?
