I had the game on in the background and that trailer caught my attention.

The rare original action blockbuster is so refreshing these days.
As a Travis fan, slightly disappointed. But I'm waiting to see if the beat is tied into the movie somehow before I judge it. Could be a non je ne regrette rien.

At this point, I seriously doubt I ever even see this movie at a theater, drive-in or otherwise. I've already mentally prepared to just pay $30 or so to watch it at home come November-ish. This whole release plan feels so bungled, that after it plays in certain theaters long enough to appease Nolan - maybe a month or two - WB will then aim to release it on digital as soon as they can. Which is fine, as the more I read, the more this movie sounds unspoilable due to its complexity. Given the circumstances, I'd almost rather watch it at home anyway.
Are you not traveling anywhere in the next few months that would be a place that is possibly showing it?

What doesn't Chris get? WB is doing this to appease the big theaters and their interests.
I would have to leave the state to see it, and I wasn't planning on doing so again until November for Thanksgiving. I made a big, cross-country drive to Texas and back last month, and I just have no desire to get in the car and drive for hours again, just to see a movie. That, and I just moved into a new place, work is really picking up, etc, so I don't really have the time for traveling right now either.

Actively taking away the option for people to watch the movie within the safety of their own cars during a pandemic is kind of insane. I get that WB wants to appease the big theaters and all that, and I get that they're not "forcing" people to do anything against their will. But it still seems ridiculously petty - and borderline irresponsible - to take the drive-in option away from people who can't see the movie otherwise.
I agree with your stance. Maybe he should word it differently though than "not understanding it".
Oh ok gotcha. Is NV still not doing theaters either? I'd find an excuse to drive to vegas for a night or something and then combine it with a showing.
And yeah that sucks they won't put them at drive-ins in areas where inside isn't allowed, though I guess I see why they would make that decision...it's just never going to win over with the public.

I *do* need to research the next project I plan to write - which takes place in and around Vegas - but being in casinos right now almost seems more unsafe than even theaters. So I'm going to save that trip until things subside a bit more, virus-wise.
