Well that is a failed business. I wish people would consult me on stuff like this. Bad location for an extremely limited clientele.
Is this that salad place in the mall, and are they moving to a new location?

I have been to the location in Sugar Land and it is not bad. It's basically a build your own salad along the lines of a Chipotle or Freebirds...go down the line and tell them what you want as you build your salad.

Interesting. Because as I understand it, that's the concept with the place in the mall. Hope BCS can sustain two such places.

If Souper Salad and Sweet Tomatoes are the varsity Salata is the freshman JV team. Overpriced, undeserved compared to the others.
We have both a Souper Salad and Sweet Tomatoes in the Sugar Land area. ST is far and away the better of the two. The SS here is so dirty and I won't go when it comes up as an option for lunch. Again that all comes down to management so a SS in another location may be just fine....the one in Sugar Land not so much!! Plus ST has so much more variety and is not just about the salad.

S or S is better than Salata. The salad bar at Jason's is better than any of them.
We walked into that Sweet Tomatoes place at The Woodlands Mall once and walked right out. Felt like a Souper Salad/GoCo type place.

When you finish at Salata hopefully there's a Whataburger nearby. You go through the line and tell them what you want on it. There's one near my office so we've been a few times. After those visits the consensus was to take it out of the rotation.
salata is so good! college station is very ready for this.
Signage going up today at the old Tony Roma's for Imperial Chinese and Sushi.
I wonder if it's the same owner(s) as the old Imperial in College Station from years ago.

The site work next to Taco Bell is for Pacific Dental. It will absolutely not be a Waffle House.

Tony Roma's was mediocre food at a high cost. It wasn't good. If the food isn't good, it's likely to fail, period. There are great local food spots in the unlikeliest of places around this town. Location is key, but if you have a quality product and service, you can survive most anywhere.

Tony Romas is good enough for a lot of other markets. Many of those other markets have better restaurants than we have here. Can anyone explain that?
Other towns support Boston's, TGI Fridays as well. Who knows, maybe people elsewhere have lower standards. maybe it had to do with corporate decision making. either way, if it were profitable, it would likely still be open.
We visited these chains that have closed locally, once or twice, and the food or service just wasn't good enough to return. Roma's was ok, but not worth the price paid for it.
