New Zealand is hard to beat. I'm a big fan....great hunting, fishing, skiing, beaches, outdoor activities galore.
It looks like a great trip, even before you are starting to hunt. Smart move taking the train from J'burg to Cape Town; it kept you from the transition of international to domestic terminals. I'm sure your outfitter takes care of all that business, but it can be a real mess. I have no doubt that the next trip to Africa will include more time in Cape Town. If you get back down to the Cape area, try out the Two Oceans restaurant.
Cape Town is definitely on the agenda for our next trip!

My favorite is Rust en Vrede.
Meerlust, Steenburg, Waterford are good.
Different area but also amazing is Vergelergen - it's a big park with wine and restaurants and gardens, very nice time and amazing views in all directions.

You got great pics of table mountain - it's almost always covered on top by a cloud they call the Tablecloth!

Been very lucky on weather here...the clouds were moving a lot today and it changed 20 times while we were there.
Got a little fancier on the snaps. Pulled off camera.

Our tour guide told us the old legend about the clouds on Table Mountain. How the Devil was going to take a pirates soul but the pirate wanted 1 more puff on his pipe and the puff lasted forever and that's what causes the smoke/clouds on top.

Trip from Capetown to Plettenberg. About 530km by road...we landed once and walked around and took 3 hours total. You fly over the wine country, then farming country and game reserves before following the coast the last 30 minutes. Saw zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, klipspringer along the way...oh, a southern right whale and tons of dolphin coming.down the coast

Roeburg Peninsula hike. Beautiful hike where Attenborough filmed a lot of Planet Earth 2 South Africa footage. Videos will show the seal congregations.
The hike kicked my ass. Did the full circuit. The back side of the Peninsula is mostly a scramble over wet rock and multiple ascents/decent down the face of the Peninsula... and it takes twice as long as the trip down to the Point. The guide sprang up the last incline to take a video of my final ascent (he's 32). I look my age trying to take one more step up....
