Way too convenient.

ETA contrived stuff like that is a serious pet peeve of mine. It would go one of two ways though: Luthen knew it the whole time and that's why he wanted Cassian in the first place, or he doesn't know and he's not the intelligence and spy master he's made out to be. It would have to be #1, IMO.

Smallest galaxy in the universe. Based off how often people randomly bump into each other in the movies there are maybe 50-60,000 people in the entire galaxy

Well, one of the major themes of SW is destiny and that the major events of the universe are determined by the Force. The argument could be made that all of the random occurrences are really just manifestations of the will of the Force, and everyone, no matter how small, plays some part.

Its almost entirely what has made the other shows suck, and the movies, trying to shoehorn characters we already know into the plot.

Yeah kind of.

However, devil's advocate, there is something to that. Having characters pop in and out kind of anchors the different series within the universe if done correctly. In The Mandalorian, having Bo Katan and Ahsoka makes a lot of sense within the wider plot. Bo Katan is a Mandalorian and is the plot device that brings Din from his life as a ronin to the forefront of the battle for leadership of Mandalore. Their meeting makes sense. Ahsoka is the same way, as she is known to Bo Katan and a (former) Jedi. It makes sense that Din would take Grogu to her.

Boba Fett less so. There's not a lot of reason for them to be together, especially since he was supposed to be dead.


If you just keep making new characters, you run into the problem of just making a new character whenever you need one and the continuity will eventually suffer. Think Harry Potter and spells. There's new ones introduced throughout the series because there's a need for them in the plot, but they would have been really useful earlier to people who did have known them but didn't use them. That results in things that are all to convenient as well

I didn't hate Boba Fett, but in the context of The Mandalorian it seems like an unnecessary side trip to sell toys and merchandise. I do like how it sets up Tatooine post empire though.


And yes the show itself could have been better. I did not like the vespa squad.
