I forgot to mention that it was cool to see the alien Jedi who helps Ahsoka in an episode of Clone Wars trapped in the inquisitors museum. It was also dumb to see a youngling still wearing his helmet.

I still can't get over that they had a Grand Inquisitor look exactly like the one in Rebels and just killed him off. Given the blatant rip off of Fallen Order, maybe they don't care about the non-live action canon?

Thought Reva let slip a couple of notes from her past - that she had a life before this and it was taken from her, and her droid. I think she's a great look at someone who gets trained to do a job without questioning orders, but when a little wrinkle in the job - like threatening a 10-year-old - comes into play, suddenly she's not so sure about it anymore. Same thing happens to Finn in TFA and to Mando in regards to Grogu. The punishment of the innocent people is not something that most people can do lightly.

If you're going to condemn sneaking into the base, you have to condemn the entire Death Star sequence in ANH, Luke and Lando getting into Jabba's, Obi-Wan getting up close to Grievous on Utapau, and pretty much every infiltration in every other movie ever made.

Reva puts a tracking beacon on LOLA, and it tracks them, and Vader approves so much that he copies it in ANH with the Falcon like someone else said. I love how he came bursting through the doors at her and loomed over her. Good use of showing how huge he is.

Obi-Wan vs. the stormtroopers and the seeker droid in the hallway was everything I could have wanted. The built-in things like using the lightsaber to deflect lasers comes naturally too him, but his footwork and using the Force for other stuff is so ragged. Seeing Obi-Wan Kenobi fight stomtroopers is a wonder treat.

Lots of Easter Eggs. I'll have go back and watch it again to see what i misse.

Obviously the snowspeeders.
The comlink left behind like C3PO's in ANH
Florrum is the planet where Hondo has his base and Dooku gets captured by pirates - one of the most ruthless episodes of The Clone Wars ever.
The entombed Jedi/Force Users was straight out of a Season 1 episode of Rebels where Kannan is led to believe that Luminara Uduli is still alive.

Coleman Kcaj was one of them in the hallway. Or as I always thought of him Abe Simpson.

And this has got to be Tera Sinube from Clone Wars

Not sure about some of the others, obviously seeing the youngling was a real shot to the gut to Obi-Wan, taking him back to the day he saw the holo-recording of Anakin killing everyone.

Best little moment: O'shea Jackson's Roken calling Obi-Wan "General"
Best little moment 2.0: Leia, now in her white outfit, reaching out for Obi-Wan's hand. That's a lot of emotion in there for him. A lot of weight. And he's not her dad, but if you're a dad with a daughter, that gets you right in the feels, just like I Love You 3000 and Scott Lang seeing Cassie after he's been dust for 5 years.

Least surprising moment: TC stays up til midnight, watches it, hates it, says he how much he hates it, rips it apart, then gets ready for the next episode.

EDIT: I thought what was really well done was Obi-Wan having to physically remove himself from the bacta tank because the nightmares and the visions were too much for him to handle, counterbalanced with Vader, who we know is in his bacta tank frequently, and probably having those visions every damn time.

Such lazy writing in this show.

True. But let's be honest here, his criticisms are pretty damned valid week-to-week.

I no longer let myself get hyped for any Star Wars IP to avoid the disappointment these days, which has allowed me to slightly enjoy this series. I mean, I will always watch someone using a lightsaber in battle.

How hard would it have been to add a line from Tala to her buddies in the speeders over the comms, stating she has disabled the fortress's defenses?

Then when she takes out the two stormtroopers, the first with a light "bonk" to the helmet... Yeesh. The other female Imperial officer vanishes and Reva has only been out of the room 5-6 seconds without coming back at the sound of blaster fire.

Last, I'm confused at how sharp light sabers are. The first stormtrooper Ben took out, took 4 blows but the armor wasn't penetrated. Are lightsabers sharper than that?
The Porkchop Express

Maybe those stormtroopers wear armor that's more lightsaber resistant because they're going out on missions with the Inquistors that have a high probability of fighting someone with a lightsaber?

I will give two answers

1. When the empire took all the Beskar Armor from Mandolar they put some of it in the stormtroopers armor. They just skipped targeting school though.

2. His blade sharpness is directly related to his proficiency with the force. So it sucks right now.

Now that's more like it. Always a sucker for a good mission episode.

Seeing Obi-Wan finally return to form was so enjoyable. Especially when he trapped the stormtroopers in the water.

Did Reva really put a tracker on the ship, or was she lying to save her ass? She definitely didn't look like she was close enough to the ship, but could be an editing trick to make us doubt her.
I guess one way to enjoy a show is to not pay attention to it.

This episode was....fine. I've pretty much given up on this show being great.
"I dislike the show, so everyone who likes it is not paying attention."

Mkay.
You misinterpret me. I'm saying how did you miss that it was the droid? That's what makes me wonder if you're paying attention, not that we have different opinions (and I'm not sure we do, I still haven't figured out if I like this show or not. It's so....fine.)

I just think if you are going to debate with TC and others about the quality of the show you might want to be aware of what happened in it.

it's weird, there are zero encounters between people with a lightsaber and genuine run of the mill stormtroopers in the OT.

Obi-Wan doesn't fight anyone but Vader uses it in the cantina. Luke fights a remote.
On Hoth, looks only uses it on the Wampa, then vs. Vader on Bespin. Han uses it to make Tauntaun Fricasse.
In Jedi, Luke carves up Jabba's guys and deflects bolts from that one scout trooper, but doesn't hit anybody in the armor with it.

So it's not until TFA and Finn gutting the first FO stormy at Maz's palace that we actually see a saber vs. a stormtrooper. How odd.

That is an interesting observation. Would you say the closest comparison we have is when that Stormtrooper last episode fell into the checkpoint gate and was cut into 3rds?

You realize it happened offscreen right? But yes, the last shot is somewhat obvious in retrospect. But no need to be a jerk about it for no good reason.

Yeah, it seriously felt like damn near anyone could gain access to that place, considering there were basically zero exterior defenses.
Sure, anyone that has Imperial clearance and has invested years into their cover.

I was mainly referring to the two Rebel ships that attacked at the end, hence the use of "exterior." Any base worth a damn would have picked those things out of the sky from a mile away.

Eh, that didn't bother me. I chalk it up to Imperial hubris, much like with the DS.

People act like I *want* to dislike this stuff, or like I'm just sh*tting on it willy nilly. When, in truth, I want nothing more than for this stuff to be great, and I always explain my critiques/back them up with examples. Not to mention... a lot of people here seem to agree with me. Apologies for sharing my genuine reactions, but the need here from some of you to always sing Kumbaya when it comes to Star Wars discussion is pretty weird.

Kind of sad that I have more hope in animated SW than I do live action stuff. Outside of SW Resistance, animated has been pretty solid.

I think it's more that you're making the same complaints week after week and just piling on. It's not exactly new critiques.

That, and your hyperbole for even the smallest of nitpicks. (Like getting past the guards. This is a common trope.)
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Re: the "piling on," as I noted, the shock comes more from them repeating the same mistakes/not being able to course correct. So I'm simply expressing my continued disbelief. That, and there are a number of people in this thread complaining just as much, about all the same stuff. Yet I get singled out because I apparently "stay up" just to be the first to pounce on the show, when, in reality, I'm simply on the west coast, usually don't go to bed before 1, and again, am genuinely hoping each week that these shows will be good/can turn it around.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Also, as you just mentioned in another thread, I too am watching the new Stranger Things simultaneously, and even as a casual fan, am finding that show to be in a whole other league comparatively. It's just so good, so propulsive, and so well done, so every week I'm thinking, "How the hell is Obi-Wan Kenobi not even coming close to touching Stranger Things?" which just adds to the frustration.

We should change BBY and ABY to Before Baby Yoda and After Baby Yoda, and adjust appropriately.

Conveniently, it lines up with the birth of Anakin.
