I can easily get behind this. Radcliffe has been hilarious in the Miracle Workers series.

Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan's writers would have had the explosion from the missiles blow James Bond into the ocean, where his watch has an inflatable raft that cushions his fall and lets him survive and the nanobots are burned off by the missile fire, but protect his skin from burnsEnzo The Baker said:
I loved this movie. I would actually put this behind Casino Royale. Then Quantum, Skyfall and Spectre (I know most will have this in the middle after Skyfall as 2nd. Skyfall is beautiful but I think it's very superficial IMO. Lots of MSG.) It was beautifully shot and the writing I thought was so much better this movie, the best we have seen since Casino.
This was an homage to the old bonds in every way. From the OHMSS scores, to the intro with the Dr. No-like graphics, to the garden of death from You Only Live Twice Fleming books. Even the Ken Adams-like set at the end. As mentioned by others, this was also a beautifully shot movie. The scene with Bond fighting up the stairs was outstanding.
At the end of the movie, I just sat there, thinking, 'Bond can't die. The nerve of the writers and ***unaga. They kill Felix, Blofeld and Bond all in one movie?!' But then I start thinking, what else could they have done to make it better writing wise? The Blofeld story line fell flat on its face in Spectre, and they had to clean up that mess. The Waltz Spectre thing just did not work. Jeffrey Wright is great but he's getting old too. I'm not sure what direction they should have gone in.
I'm honestly okay with them wrapping it up in this way because in the end, I think Craig brought a human side to this role that no other Bond before (maybe Lazenby?) has brought.
As I mentioned earlier, I think they should have waited for the introduction of Spectre post-Craig. So a two-movie Spectre arc is a little disappointing.
But I can be on board for a 'act like nothing happened' outlook, keeping the Craig arc out of the franchise going forward. Just please don't make a Naomi movie or a Bond universe please.

Is this one worth it to see in IMAX?

Just checking in to mention TCTTS missed both the opening night of this movie, and A&M beating Bama at Kyle.
That is all.
It definitely has story lines that are from throughout the Craig movies as well as some classics like OHMSS.YouBet said:
Do I need to do a full Craig rewatch before seeing this? I've seen Casino in the last year but none of the others since they came out. It would obviously be ideal. Just wondering if I'm going to miss some callbacks or plot lines.

It's a top ten Bond movie. See that for sure before you watch this.YouBet said:Guitarsoup said:It definitely has story lines that are from throughout the Craig movies as well as some classics like OHMSS.YouBet said:

Yeah, I haven't seen that....maybe ever. Don't recall.

I felt there were too many elements of MI2 in this one. Having James infected with a nanobot that would prevent him from ever touching his woman and daughter was a lazy setup for "he has nothing to live for now".

Good to know. Thanks.

For cheering in movie theaters, it needs to be appropriate to the moment. Cheering at major or iconic moments is fine and can actually enhance the viewing experience - you're sharing a sense of excitement with the other theatergoers. For example, cheering in Endgame when Cap picks up the hammer or when the Avengers assemble is great. Cheering every time Ant Man is on the screen would probably be a bit much, though.TCTTS said:
Forgot to mention how great it was to be back in an IMAX theater for a huge blockbuster. Realized I hadn't done so since December 2019 for The Rise of Skywalker. The entire theater cheered at both the beginning and the end of the Top Gun: Maverick trailer, and then at the end of the of the Dune trailer (which got the longest applause, surprisingly/encouragingly). Then they cheered at the MGM logo/Bond theme at the beginning of the movie, and then again toward the end of the movie when Bond does the brief barrel/gun pose down that corridor. I know certain Debbie Downers here can't stand movie theater cheering/applauding, but whatever. It was so damn fun, and I can't wait to go back in less than two weeks for Dune.
There was a group of 4 guys next to me that were kind of cheering at all the big moments like this one, the Aston Martin scene at the beginning, basically any time Bond did something cool.Quote:
