I read these excerpts and I honestly think this sounds fun. Personally, I think Bond has gotten a bit stale and needs to be challenged - just a tiny bit - in this regard. I would argue that in this day and age, if they didn't include some of this stuff, it would feel *too* removed from reality.

Besides, have you not seen the trailer? Did it not look and feel basically the same - in a good way - as the past Craig efforts? You had to have seen the comments here where I and others think this looks like the best one since Skyfall. Yet you're somehow CONVINCED - again, four months before this movie's release - that it's going to be a SWJ disaster because of a few not-actually-that-bad quotes?

I was typing the above while you posted this, but I have no ill will toward you either. I think you're a great poster, actually. I'm just saying, let's at least hold off until we know how, exactly, this stuff is incorporated into the final product, and to what extent. Because I'm guessing it's going to be incredibly minimal.

Not sure if you're familiar with Seth Godin, but he's talked about how the internet has allowed musicians to make a more modest but sustainable living due to the internet. Not so much due to Spotify, but more platforms like YouTube that allow them to more easily get their music out there and interact with their audience.

Don't know that streaming services are quite the same as far as a sustainable living, but they (and the internet in general) have definitely given filmmakers a way to get their content seen that didn't exist before and possibly get a shot at that Netflix/Hulu or other filmmaking deal.

The trailer saw at Rise of Skywalker had me intrigued--- Craig's bond as a larger than life figure that it is unclear if he is still around. Then when he shows some kind of rivalry. It looks promising and he is such a great actor in the role it has to be given benefit of the doubt. It might have gotten Rian'd but it doesn't look that way, and few inisde quips or jokes wont ruin it if not overdone. Captain Marvel turned out to be over-stated in that regard too; its flaws was not from its little wisecracks.

re-watched Spectre last night...what a disappointing film. i really had high hopes for it too with Mendes returning after the brilliant Skyfall and waltz as the bad guy. but just kind of a mess of a movie.

Wow, it seems super late in the game, but I'll take it. Love me some Hans Zimmer.

I'm sure it will mostly be done by some of his in studio friends but very cool to have his name attached to it regardless.

I think only Shirley Bassey tripled up and no one else doubled. Could be wrong though.

And I'm not sure how much of the comments in the interview are really hers, but I can totally see her being someone who actually is a fan of the Bond franchise and really wants to do it justice.

They did the same thing a couple years back with suggesting there Bond could have a male love interest. Based on the reaction, they reduced it to a throw away line.
