I've seen it multiple times after it's initial release. I'd put it up there imo

I really need to go see Spectre again. I only ever saw it once in theaters. Funny because I own Dr. No through Skyfall in the special edition blu-ray box set and watch them all the time

Can't wait to revisit all four Craig films in the lead-up. Gonna be a fun rewatch, as there are a couple - QoS and Spectre - I haven't seen since the theater.

Count me in as enjoying QoS the first go around as well and not really getting all the hate.

I think it's tragic that the greatest Bond yet, (Daniel ****ing Craig, baby!), and perhaps my favorite actor of the times, has to hand off the baton to one of Charlie's Angels.

I'm predicting a disaster at the box office. You can't create a character who embodies the heart of "toxic masculinity " and then draw tits and a political agenda on them while retaining that audience.

But, I'm thinking they're must be some 3D chess going on that is beyond my level of sophistication because it seems like an incredibly bad investment.

I imagine they'll make at least one solo Bond-as-a-b/tch film which will cost $100 MM and earn $25 MM before they sign an effeminate Englishman (of which there are so very many to choose) as the new Bond.

But Craig gave us several great Bond moments and they should have let him slip into the fade after the last film instead of what is clearly an attempt to jump start their new direction riding on his coat tails.

Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting.

Bond starts out retired in this film, and *only* the 007 moniker has been re-designated, not his name or his likeness or his balls. Bond dealing with that is part of the plot. The world has moved on without him, and I'm certain Bond himself will provide adequate commentary on the state of affairs, a commentary that will likely be in accordance with *your* point of view. And I will bet anything that all of this is set up to fully establish, once and for all - in this, Craig's last outing - that only James Bond can do what James Bond can do. Anything "woke" in this movie will serve that idea above all. The Broccolis, of all people, aren't in the SJW business.

That said, I don't understand how you're inferring any of what you're talking about from a teaser for a trailer, or what about this is prompting yet another rant after the last round finally died off. How do you know we're getting "Bond-as-a-b/tch"? Have you read the script? And what about this is "clearly an attempt to jump start a new direction," seeing as the powers that be have reportedly said the opposite (i.e. there won't be any spinoffs)? Do you know something literally no one outside of the production yet knows?

Regardless, like with all other premature political b*tching on this board, can we PLEASE at least wait until the movie comes out - or wait until we at least know just a bit more - before we let this kind of talk prevail again? We had this convo already in this very thread. It sucked. Can we not just have a sliver of hope or optimism as the first trailer hits before going down this road again?

Now calm down, I didn't mean to upset you. I fear we're wearing you down and I don't want that b/c we need genuinely moderate people in your neighborhood.

I'm only responding to scuttlebutt and had made the assumption that those stories were true. If you're information is legit than I find that most refreshing and would certainly consider seeing it.

The Broccolis have in fact earned the benefit of the doubt but the current climate has shown several time tested franchises hijacked to reach a female audience that simply isn't there.

I don't mind you taking your frustrations out on me because I'd like to consider myself a safe person to vent your exasperation toward politically oriented posters. I genuinely don't like the discord, but certainly you can see the overlap of politics and art.

I do censor my speech on this board in consideration of the more delicate posters and will try to redouble my efforts to not upset them.

i'm doing this now...i re-watched casino royale the other day and i watched QoS last night. i remember enjoying it in the theater as well and after re-watching, i think i liked it even more.

in trying to think about why QoS does get so much hate, one thing i noticed on my re-watch is that it works so much better if you watch it right after casino royale. if you're someone who likes the more traditional "gentleman spy" James Bond and less of the action star James Bond, i could see how you'd be disappointed in waiting a few years only to have QoS pick up immediately after the events of casino royale. but the two films really do work pretty well together.

another thing working against QoS is a completely underwhelming villain. i'm not sure i could've told you his name before i re-watched it. completely forgettable.

then to top it off, QoS is hurt because it is sandwiched between two of the top five Bond movies, at least in my opinion.

I loved Casino Royale and really enjoyed QoS, and have been disappointed by the two movies since then.

The No. 1 knock I always hear on QoS is that the evil plot centers around controlling water, and people just think that's dumb.

I think it was good idea, not so great execution. Dominic Greene isn't very rememberable, I easily think CR villain was way better and more sinister. Could also be that Dominic Greene wasn't physically intimidating or vicious, just an evil money hoarding eco guy. There are moments on QoS that always stick with me for example, when bond is on the plane drinking thinking about Vesper and Mathis comes to talk to him, it's little moments like that which make QoS memorable

I do agree that QoS gets 'TLJ' treatment. Not an elite Bond film but a solid one.

But how did you not like Skyfall?

QoS is one of those movies that got stuck in the writer's strike. It could have used a few more drafts.

This. Skyfall is easily my favorite Craig Bond and quite possibly favorite in the entire series. Movie nerd comment coming.....Deakins is a GD movie god and makes the film. Between the long intro shot of Bardem and his rat monologue, and the fight in the skyscraper at night, its borderline genius. Bardem is also a fantastic villain and is just the perfect amount of "over the top".

Agreed. Skyfall is my second favorite Bond film after Casino.

Just the right amount of over-the-top treatment. As I get older I like fictional characters that are rooted in reality.

If this one is as good as Skyfall, is there still a debate on whether Daniel Craig is the best Bond?

That drive was one of the scariest experiences in my life. Basically the entire drive from Glasgow to Glencoe is a little bigger than a 1 way highway here, with a rock face on one side, a cliff on the other, and 18 wheelers coming at you on the wrong side of the road.

Then you rewatch the movie and see Bond just flying down it, it's anger inducing.
