Craig will retire with 3 great Bond movies.

Bond starts out retired in this film, and *only* the 007 moniker has been re-designated, not his name or his likeness or his balls. Bond dealing with that is part of the plot. The world has moved on without him, and I'm certain Bond himself will provide adequate commentary on the state of affairs, a commentary that will likely be in accordance with *your* point of view. And I will bet anything that all of this is set up to fully establish, once and for all - in this, Craig's last outing - that only James Bond can do what James Bond can do. Anything "woke" in this movie will serve that idea above all. The Broccolis, of all people, aren't in the SJW business.
That said, I don't understand how you're inferring any of what you're talking about from a teaser for a trailer, or what about this is prompting yet another rant after the last round finally died off. How do you know we're getting "Bond-as-a-b/tch"? Have you read the script? And what about this is "clearly an attempt to jump start a new direction," seeing as the powers that be have reportedly said the opposite (i.e. there won't be any spinoffs)? Do you know something literally no one outside of the production yet knows?
Regardless, like with all other premature political b*tching on this board, can we PLEASE at least wait until the movie comes out - or wait until we at least know just a bit more - before we let this kind of talk prevail again? We had this convo already in this very thread. It sucked. Can we not just have a sliver of hope or optimism as the first trailer hits before going down this road again?
i'm doing this now...i re-watched casino royale the other day and i watched QoS last night. i remember enjoying it in the theater as well and after re-watching, i think i liked it even more.TCTTS said:
Can't wait to revisit all four Craig films in the lead-up. Gonna be a fun rewatch, as there are a couple - QoS and Spectre - I haven't seen since the theater.
Count me in as enjoying QoS the first go around as well and not really getting all the hate.
Now THAT'S how it's done.TCTTS said:
YES.
(a tease)
I do agree that QoS gets 'TLJ' treatment. Not an elite Bond film but a solid one.Aggie_Journalist said:
I loved Casino Royale and really enjoyed QoS, and have been disappointed by the two movies since then.
The No. 1 knock I always hear on QoS is that the evil plot centers around controlling water, and people just think that's dumb.
This. Skyfall is easily my favorite Craig Bond and quite possibly favorite in the entire series. Movie nerd comment coming.....Deakins is a GD movie god and makes the film. Between the long intro shot of Bardem and his rat monologue, and the fight in the skyscraper at night, its borderline genius. Bardem is also a fantastic villain and is just the perfect amount of "over the top".Gigem314 said:I do agree that QoS gets 'TLJ' treatment. But how did you not like Skyfall?

If this one is as good as Skyfall, is there still a debate on whether Daniel Craig is the best Bond?

Very nice.
