And I still want Idris Elba. Why is he not an option anymore?

As long as the actor isn't like cam or Mitchell from modern family I dont see why people would care about sexual orientation
Wait, what? Since when is he gay?TCTTS said:
Madden checks both of those boxes. That said, I also just remembered he's gay, so should he be cast, I absolutely dread that discourse…

Based on the first Silva scene in Skyfall...may be appropriate for Bond.Quote:
He could also be bi.
Still my favorite pick. He has the rugged feel of the Craig era without being a Craig clone. There's a touch of the Bond charm, but not overdone like I think it would be with someone like Cavill.Brian Earl Spilner said:

Sir, what can I get you ?Quote:
As long as they keep 'rugged authentic Bond' and don't go back to 'posh Bond' like we saw with Moore and Pierce (great in their own right but those kind of films just don't work today) I'll be happy.

Well, they did something similar when bringing in Jeremy Renner for the one-off Bourne movie, and it seems to be treated as though it never existed.jackie childs said:
i've suggested it before, but i'd love to see them put "james bond" on the shelf for a bit and expand the Double-O section of MI-6. think of all the awesome films you could make without worrying whether someone "can be james bond".
wouldn't it be cool to develop different spy characters to be played by idris elba, dev patel, tom hardy, emily blunt, and whoever else?
they tried that with renner in the mission impossible movies too. so maybe the lesson is not to have jeremy renner be one of the Double-O agentsCoppellAg93 said:Well, they did something similar when bringing in Jeremy Renner for the one-off Bourne movie, and it seems to be treated as though it never existed.jackie childs said:

Building a story with a new 00 agent would be good if they made sure the story went somewhere. I'd be interested in that for sure.
