Remember also that h Ryan hacked into Teresa's cell phone account and deleted voicemails and also led the search party on the Avery property to find her

Did Brendan ever get released or was the state and Kratz fighting it?

Avery hasn't done himself any favors. He's had 2 fiancs while in prison - broke up with both and threatened both. Still, he didn't do this murder.

THAT was what I was trying to remember. He led them to the car on the Avery lot.

The cops went after Avery from the start because they knew she'd been there that day and that was reason enough to try to get the guy that was suing them for millions.

Brendan is still in prison, even though his conviction has been overturned. An appeal of that decision is in progress.

I guess there is a voicemail that proves she went to another location after she left the Avery yard.

This story really is crazy all hell.

I do believe that the settlement has something to the framing of Avery. I'd guess that Ryan killed her and pinned it on Avery knowing who he was. The city/state saw the opportunity and went with it. Almost like in season 5 of the wire where everyone is lying and the other side doesnt quote know it yet.

Quote:

Former Calumet County District Attorney Ken Kratz, who obtained convictions in 2007 against both Dassey and his uncle, Steven Avery, in the Halbach murder, said the high court ruled properly.

Quote:

"Ironically, it was his much-criticized first attorney, Len Kachinsky, who seemed to be looking out for his then 16-year-old client's best interest when he negotiated that plea deal," Kratz said.

Quote:

"I have a great deal of sympathy today for Brendan Dassey. His uncle, Steven Avery, made him a murderer his family and attorneys provided the worst possible advice, ensuring that he will now spend nearly the rest of his life in prison. Knowing he could have been walking out of prison in as little as three years from today, had he followed Attorney Kachinsky's original recommendation, I wonder if his 'advisors,' so willing to criticize law enforcement for obtaining his confession, will turn the lens of scrutiny on themselves, and apologize to Brendan for mishandling his case at almost every turn."

His original attorney who hired a PI to interrogate Brendan, provided the results to the cops, then allowed his 16 yo old client to be interviewed by the cops without representation....that guy had Brendan's best interest at heart?

Wow.

What's so shocking about that? States have ultimate policing power of citizens, not the feds. It's not the the SCOTUS' realm to deal with criminal cases but rather suits determining constitutionality.

So the inmate confessed to the filmmakers not any authorities?

Just finished season 1. I'm way way behind I know but I am at a loss. There are so many despicable people. The only people that don't seem irredeemable are Avery's parents, Brendan and that one hot reporter.

As true as always and this show just reaffirms it...never talk to the police.

Spoiler
It is a really poorly edited show that should be maybe 5 episodes in total for both seasons

Wayyyyyyy delayed plot twist. The "documentary" may be bunk.

Not gonna lie, as the phone was ringing, and then answered I heard "Hello, this is Kerpal and you kick my dog!" In the back of my mind.
