I remember that Moore was always the Spur that would visit the 2 elementary schools I went to. The bar was definitely a little lower back then.

Ice, Robinson and Timmy should be the only jerseys up there with Manu and Tony to follow. Bruce, AJ (talked a lot), and Sean (gave up a kidney) were key contributors on title teams, but should not be up there. It devalues it for the rest. TBH Kawhi deserves it more than the others for his accomplishments alone.

I agree to some extent. But on the other who gives a crap? I'm pretty sure Tim and Dave are plenty honored despite it being "devalued". The powers that be clearly use a set of criteria different than most organizations.

Watching Kawhi in Toronto and having thoughts.

1. DD is great but Kawhi is very rare and appears pretty healthy. If everyone knew he was well again we should have received more in the trade.
2. Green is a sneaky great move for Toronto. You can tell he and Kawhi click and they bring that Spurs toughness. Meanwhile, the Spurs really miss his defense.
3. Derozen is a better overall offensive player than i thought.
At this point I feel he is a more natural play maker. KL has more range but I trust DDs game a little more. If only slightly. Defense is not even fair to compare. DD rarely even gets in a stance while KL is one of the best defenders of all time.
4. The biggest plus for the Spurs is Derozens durability. Not dealing with the constant need to rest or random injury will lead to a few more wins.
5. All I all. If the Spurs got one more player in the deal I'd be okay with it. Right now the Raptors must feel like the won the lottery getting two starters from a team that has a proven championship pedigree. Of course that feeling goes away next season if KL leaves.

Even if we just got Siakam over Poeltl I would have felt better about the trade. I know he hasn't gotten a lot of opportunities, but Poeltl just doesn't make sense in today's game. But from what a lot of analysts said, the Spurs didn't have a lot of say in the +1 player.

It's pretty hard to go from Kawhi being my favorite player in the league to ignoring him. I'm not rooting against him but I am rooting for him to stay in Canada.

I should also note that DD has been amazing so far. If he's coachable and buys into Pop I predict that he get his Jersey hung up there next to Manus.

Phoenix is the 6th largest city in America. Incidentally, SA is 7th. If Phx was decent they would draw plenty. I lived in Phx in 05-06 and they were very popular. The problem is their owner is clueless.

Spurs finally have a blowout win. Win by 30 with only 4 fast break points. Methodical beatdown. The defense looked pretty good tonight. Obviously Phoenix is terrible but they can score.

If I had to guess, it is because he's Pop. He needs to find the next "core" of this team to lead and carry the corporate knowledge torch that is now gone. The fact that TP stepped aside for Murray last year shows how much confidence Pop has in Murray.
