According to Jake Fischer of SI, the Spurs (among other teams) want to move up to the 20-23rd range.

Do you mean keep 19 and trade up from 29 (to have 19th and 23rd pick) or move from 19 to 20-23 and keep the 29th pick?

I wouldn't mind Bol Bol with a second rounder. But man. He just doesn't look like he could hang in the pros. A lot of physical things working against him.

Bol Bol has way too much upside to fall to the second round.

I get that. But I don't want the Spurs be the team to test that upside.

At 19 (or 29 if he somehow fell that far), taking a chance on a unicorn of a basketball player like Bol would be worth it. He's got the size and length of Rudy Gobert but has offensive skills like Porzingis. I know there are injury concerns and he's super skinny, but I'd take a flyer on that in a heart beat that late.

Of all his deficiencies it's his lack of lateral movement in today's game that would concern me the most. Not worth it at 19 when we are a team that struggles on D as it is. More pressing needs at hand. Even if he is a unicorn, I don't see the Spurs being the type of team to take that chance on him with a first rounder, let alone a pick in the teens. They aren't the team to throw guaranteed money at a gamble. Just my opinion.
Last year they pretty much nailed it with Lonnie but before that I can't ever remember that they ever predicted the Spurs pick...except for Timmy!flashplayer said:
No way RC and the Spurs are tipping their draft hand. That would be the most un-Spursy thing ever. I don't buy most of these rumors, especially Bitadze. When is the last time media folks were accurately calling Spurs draft picks leading into a draft?
i dont think many of the experts thought Walker would even be available when the Spurs picked.flashplayer said:

Everyone knew we wanted Batum the year he came out (Portland snatched him). We even were trying to trade up ahead of them to get him.flashplayer said:

Suns just gave up a 1st round pick to Indiana to take TJ Warren, who put up 18/4 last year on 49%/43% shooting. Suns got nothing but cap space back.

49% from the field and 43% from 3 on over 4 attempts per game will translate anywhere. His usage probably goes down with a healthy Oladipo coming back, but they literally got a solid player and a pick for sending some cash. Surely the Suns could have gotten a pick rather than having to send one.

I'm not saying he sucks. I'm just saying you have to be a little suspicious when the team who knows him best trades him for nothing.

I would love Doumbouya, but we're gonna have to trade up quite a bit to have a shot.
