According to Jake Fischer of SI, the Spurs (among other teams) want to move up to the 20-23rd range.

Do you mean keep 19 and trade up from 29 (to have 19th and 23rd pick) or move from 19 to 20-23 and keep the 29th pick?

I view it as trade up from 29th.

SI is also reporting the Spurs want to move up as high as 15th to make sure they can draft Bitadze. Or whatever his name is.

Interesting. Drafting a big would be disappointing unless they feel like he could be our Aldridge replacement. Really want a wing.

The Ringer has us taking Goga and Bol Bol

I wouldn't mind Bol Bol with a second rounder. But man. He just doesn't look like he could hang in the pros. A lot of physical things working against him.

If we're going to move up to 15 I hope it's to take Doumbouya, Hachimura, or Little. I don't mind Bitadze, but there are other bigs that should be available later in the draft that I would rather have.

Bol Bol has way too much upside to fall to the second round.

I get that. But I don't want the Spurs be the team to test that upside.

At 19 (or 29 if he somehow fell that far), taking a chance on a unicorn of a basketball player like Bol would be worth it. He's got the size and length of Rudy Gobert but has offensive skills like Porzingis. I know there are injury concerns and he's super skinny, but I'd take a flyer on that in a heart beat that late.

Of all his deficiencies it's his lack of lateral movement in today's game that would concern me the most. Not worth it at 19 when we are a team that struggles on D as it is. More pressing needs at hand. Even if he is a unicorn, I don't see the Spurs being the type of team to take that chance on him with a first rounder, let alone a pick in the teens. They aren't the team to throw guaranteed money at a gamble. Just my opinion.

If he could move laterally, he'd be a top 5 pick. He's not a perfect prospect by any means, but I'd the rumors of us taking Bitadze are true, who also struggles to move laterally, then I'd rather wait and see who's available later on.

No way RC and the Spurs are tipping their draft hand. That would be the most un-Spursy thing ever. I don't buy most of these rumors, especially Bitadze. When is the last time media folks were accurately calling Spurs draft picks leading into a draft?

Last year they pretty much nailed it with Lonnie but before that I can't ever remember that they ever predicted the Spurs pick...except for Timmy!

Last year there was a lot of talk of Divincenzo by a lot of the media. I don't recall many speculating about Walker.

i dont think many of the experts thought Walker would even be available when the Spurs picked.

Everyone knew we wanted Batum the year he came out (Portland snatched him). We even were trying to trade up ahead of them to get him.

I don't think the Spurs were planning to take Walker, but he was high on the list and no one thought he was going to fall to us. I would bet we wanted someone that was more of a 3/4/5 but Walker was too much talent to pass up on.

Suns just gave up a 1st round pick to Indiana to take TJ Warren, who put up 18/4 last year on 49%/43% shooting. Suns got nothing but cap space back.

I was searching through Woj's tweets to see if I missed Indiana sending anything back. Maybe not the best contract ever for Warren, but he really picked up his shooting this last season and the Suns gave up a pick as well. They must think they can land a significant piece with this cap space they just cleared.

49% from the field and 43% from 3 on over 4 attempts per game will translate anywhere. His usage probably goes down with a healthy Oladipo coming back, but they literally got a solid player and a pick for sending some cash. Surely the Suns could have gotten a pick rather than having to send one.

After all these years I try not to pay attention to what the media says the Spurs are going to do in the draft since their picks are always out there.

Won't be able to watch tonight but will try and follow on my phone or on here.

Davis Bergman's, Dante Cunningham, and Jacob Poetel started like 60 games for the Spurs last year. TJ warren would be a huge upgrade.

I'm not saying he sucks. I'm just saying you have to be a little suspicious when the team who knows him best trades him for nothing.

If it was anyone besides Phoenix, then yeah.

Phoenix also has the 10th pick last year nad the 4th pick the year before playing the exact same position as TJ Warren.

They cleared a roster spot in a log jam position and cleared free agency money.

I would love Doumbouya, but we're gonna have to trade up quite a bit to have a shot.
