I realize the talent involved in the trade probably made it a no-brainer. But it's going to take watching CP perform at a high level in a Rockets jersey a few times before I let that part sink in. My negative comment (which was no more than simply saying "I don't like it") is an emotional response, not really backed by much in the way of basketball.

Fair enough. I will miss him too. But CP3, holy crap.

At the end of the day, if you can trade role players for Chris Paul you have to do it. But I just don't see how, even with say Paul George, we're going to compete with the Warriors. So in the best case, we've moved into position to make it one round deeper in the playoffs. Not exactly something you can get too hyped about.

Hey, if it wasnt us getting him, it would be San Antonio.

We could at least get CP3 and make us more competitive with SA, or let him go to SA which then distances themselves for us....

John Salley just explained that CP3/Harden could work a lot like Steph/Klay as far as who brings the ball up. I guess I do see the merits of two incredible PGs in this system. Could be fun to watch this kind of pace with an additional guy who is also a threat to score running the show.

Gotta expect defensive improvement from Harden too. I buy the argument that he's expending so much energy on offense that he has to hide on D. Now the excuse is little less acceptable. Ball handling and driving take a LOT of energy. Share the load and make some defensive improvements. He was at least average in OKC without the offensive burden.
