GSW ownership made $30 million profit on the 2016 playoff games alone.
When you have an all time great team that has become a cash cow, your threshold to absorb luxery taxes can become pretty high.
Most articles that I have read seem to think GSW ownership won't have any problem paying the taxes necessary to keep their core together for at least a couple more seasons.

Yea this kind of contract for a guy like Tucker is pretty decent. At first glance I like the signing. Guy always gave us fits during the regular season. He will replace some of the toughness and grit that we lost with Bev. He doesn't back down.......or stop dribbling....

Obviously I'm very happy about this signing, but I wish it would have happened a long time ago. PJ is getting up there, hopefully he will age like Nene.
By the way, I think Morey knew his contract offer to Nene was going to get rejected due to the age rule. Morey clearly understands the salary cap rules and I seriously doubt he missed that detail. I think he wanted to show Nene that he was appreciated so he gave him a contract he knew would be rejected. Now he can give Nene less money without offending him.
One of my all time favorite NBA players. Gives 100%, he does more with less talent than everyone else in the league.
