I regret I have but 1 blue star to give that. It's spot on.

It would be sheer insanity to sack EtH. I don't see him making January because of all you said.

So here's the problem as I see it: last year we cobbled together a great defense that hid a poor offense. If you go back through the results from last year, there were a lot of 1-0 wins. So we got rid of de Gea, everyone on defense (almost) has been hurt (all four starting defenders plus Casemiro), and the thing Onana is supposed to be good at, passing from goal, has been negated because you don't really want the defenders we have available right now to be on the ball long, if at all.

But what I can't explain is the front six. Bruno was creating chances last year, but he's not much this year. Mason Mount was clearly supposed to help create chances, but he's awful (and I know he was bad last year, but I can remember thinking he was good, but he has me questioning my memory). Casemiro was a legitimate miracle worker last year; he's been bad. Hojlund is athletic but raw, and we are asking more from him than you can expect from a 20 year old, but any striker would struggle with our lack of chance creation. I have no idea how he worked at Ajax, but our right winger can't use his right foot at all. And last year Rashford was creating his own goals but he stinks right now. Our third expensive winger is training by himself and out of the first team after essentially fighting with the manager on Twitter. And then we have a bunch of kids that we are trying to use to paper over the cracks. Oh and we have a loanee and a free transfer in the midfield that should probably be squad players but we are having to use them as starters.

Other than that, it's going reall well.

Glazeholes. As I have mentioned, the sham sales process was my last straw. The club is rotten to the core, and that core is the Glazeholes. Until they are gone, it won't truly change.

I don't think the "favourites" criticism is that fair … with one exception. If we are talking about Rashford, Garnacho hasn't been that great when he has started at LW (including yesterday). He's still a kid. If we are talking about Bruno, again, what's the alternative? Mount has been… bad. Eriksen has about a half in him.

But if we are talking about right wing… my God, what the hell did ETH see in Antony? How was he good at Ajax? How can a GD right wing not be able to use his right foot… at all? How many times does he have to take that crappy possession ending shot? I wasn't watching Ajax, but … Antony perplexes me. He may become my least favorite player ever.

All that being said… Sancho has been nothing but disappointing. Remember that run when Sancho was really good? Yeah, it was called Dortmund. Dortmund has produced Haaland, Bellingham and …. Sancho. Guess who we buy.

Honestly, though, if ETH gets sacked, a big part of it will be Antony. He pisses me off. F off, Antony.

Thanks for the run down! I was following the game yesterday and was pretty surprised by how poor United were. Just everything seems dysfunctional at the moment.

Man Utd ready to sack Erik ten Hag?! Red Devils considering two alternatives amid worst start to a season in 61 years

Former Real Madrid star and coach Zinedine Zidane is said to be among the options they are looking at, while Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim is also on their list.

However, the situation is made more complicated by the ongoing takeover process. Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS group are negotiating to purchase a 25 per cent stake in the club and assume control of sporting decisions, including managerial appointments.

We aren't getting Zidane unless we became Real Madrid sometime between yesterday and today.

That's the type of **** that proves my second point. Is that grounded in any actual fact? We'll never know for sure but probably not. But you'll see tons of content that is similar to that because it's United. I don't recall nearly the level of innuendo and gossip around Tuchel or Potter at Chelsea, Rodgers at Liverpool, etc.

That's also an example of my 2nd point. No ****ing way we're hiring Zinedine Zidane. Never happening. And I would bet my left arm that Ruben Amorim is tossed into the gossip column because his agent or someone with an agenda wanted him to be. After all, why not replace a manager who made the leap from a big club in a mid tier league w/o any big club experience with...another manager from a big club in a mid tier league w/ot any big club experience. Makes perfect sense to me.

I'm not saying that United is the only team gossiped about it is exponentially higher when it's United.

Funny enough, the website I alluded to in my rambling post a few pages back has a lead story titled "Are we part of the Man Utd problem?"

They aren't defending themselves or accepting blame but nonetheless, kudos to them to even broach the subject (even if they are likely broaching it merely to drive even more engagement).

On the ownership front, Sky is reporting that Ratcliffe will provide $300 million of his own money to be used for infrastructure development. This is in addition to taking ownership of 25% of the club through a stock buyout. Not nearly enough to redevelop OT, but it's better than nothing I suppose.

Of course, all of this comes with a massive caveat of actually finalizing the sale. In theory that is to be completed by this month but I'll believe it when I see it.

United and The Cows have that in common. Media just cannot quit talking about them, good or bad (though it's mostly bad for Utd lately).

Another Fergie time special today apparently. I missed the game, but "missed" is being loosely used here

I also missed the game but sounds like those 3 points won't relieve any pressure on ETH. Another poor performance it seems.

It wasn't great but it wasn't as bad as you guys are acting like. We had an early offside VAR goal that frankly shouldn't have been reversed (in my opinion). We controlled most of the possession.

That said, I thought before the match, "Watch Antony have an amazing game after my Antony rant." I didn't have to worry, as it turned out. Antony makes it really hard to root for him, that's all I'll say, with both his play and his demeanor.

If thats Varane thats not correct. Its a deflection to his arm.

And that SFP is really harsh by the way. Its technically correct but it was totally accidental. The Copenhagen player put his ankle under Rashford's boot.

2-2. A nightmare 10 minutes.

That might be the most laughable red card I have ever seen. You have to look at the context of the play, not just "elbow made contact to head so red card." There should be 5-10 red cards each match if that is the standard. Every corner kick with guys jumping in the box would have at least one.

Was the PK on Varane? What is he supposed to do? His arm was at his side.

Was it the elbow? I thought it was for stepping on the Copenhagen player's foot, but I was raging a little so idk.

I think he called it on Slabhead. Who had his arm out on the offensive player when the ball hit him. Thats pretty harsh. Hes not looking to handle or making himself bigger. Hes holding a player and defending.

I think it was on Maguire but not sure. Either way, it was laughable. If that's a hand ball then there is no hope for defending in the box in any manner other than stapling your hands to your ass for the entire game.

The red was documented as being for the arm but feel like it had to be for the ankle. That looked much worse. I still find it hard to be a red because it wasn't a tackle. It was a shield of a player coming up behind him. But I have less issue with the red than I do with the PK. Never a PK. Not in a million years. But that's the way of things at the moment.

Oh and there was a Copenhagen in an offside position that very much looked to be directly in Onana's line of sight on the first goal. VAR didn't even take a look.

In Europe handball penalties are more strict. If it hits your hand in most of the other European leagues it results in a penalty the vast majority of the time so idk.
Dre_00

Yeah, I forget that. Probably because I find it an utterly absurd rule. But that is in fact the rule so not necessarily a bad call but incredibly bad luck.
