From behind walker grabs out and pulls Marcus back. That's SPA

How is that not a foul on walker?

Look, Stephen Warnock told you 5 times it's not a foul, it's a contact game. Get it?

Ref calls THAT tug on Dalot but Walker has been allowed to tug/push/pull at will

I think Pep got his attack all wrong that half. They were heavier to their left with Doku against Dalot. They should be working Foden against Lindelof.

I'll take every little bit of help he wants to give.

He seems to have fixed it unfortunately

Don't worry, I'm sure Howard Webb will give us an apology after the game.

Did his leg not make a little contact with Rashford, too?

Yep. They are 100% down Foden's side now.

The inconsistencies are infuriating to me, you can't let it go when we're on the break and then give little tugs every time City asks for a foul

Just don't see how United can hold on another 20+ like this…just can't get out of their own half at all

Sorry but every player Ten Hag wanted brought in have been absolutely horrible. Such a braindead play there
Mathguy64

Every sub Ten Hag brought in was worse than the player they replaced. It's just a poorly constructed squad that is compounded by a squad decimated by defensive injuries.

Once again my decision to plan a dinner out during a United game against a top team is vindicated. Loved the Rashford goal though. Loved.

It sure seemed for a long while like parking the bus after the early goal would result in a point. City is just too clinical.

I may be in the minority, but I'd keep ten Hag.

Winning percentage of Manchester United permanent managers (all time):

1. Eric ten Hag (60.00%)
2. Sir Alex Ferguson (59.67)

That said, our next 5 games will likely tell the tale;
Everton
Liverpool (FA Cip)
@Brentford
@Chelsea
Liverpool

Need minimum of 3 wins and 1 draw, in my opinion, and honestly it could take 4 wins since I'm not sure he could survive a loss and a draw to Liverpool in two matches at Old Trafford. But I think after those 5 we will pretty much know one way or the other. Plus, none of the circulating names are that great: Teuchel? De Zerbi? Nagelsman (stuck at Germany until after Euros)? Potter? If Inzaghi at Inter were interested I might flip, but none of the above are worth sacking ten Hag in my opinion (I'd like Nagelsman if it weren't for Euros this year).

I don't want Manchester United to turn into a revolving door of coaches, and I want to support ETH but my question is does he have what it takes to take the team to another level. There I have my doubts.

he's coaching for his job given the new minority ownership and sporting control. losing to man dhabi is one thing. playing like your an 18th place squad trying to nick a point by parking the bus for the entirety of the game is other kettle of fish.

I don't think you are being realistic though. If we play high press attacking with 35 year old Johnny Evans, Varane, Lindeloff (playing out of position) and Dalot at the back with Casemiro also aging and hurt most of the year… against Man City…(edit: I'm not saying Dalot isn't pacey, but as a group, I don't trust them to beat City's front lines back.)

You are looking at a result potentially worse than last year's game at Anfield. If you are mad we spent 80M on Antony who is completely useless, I am too, but counter attack was our only chance for getting any result yesterday in my opinion.

ETH came into a very difficult situation.

I'm happy for the new leadership to do what they think is best. We need to have some kind of consistency between the type of game the manager wants to play and the players we get to execute that system.

Is ETH's the right one? Honestly I don't follow closely enough to know.

I doubt he'll go mostly because there are more pressing concerns for Ratcliffe to manage first and he doesn't have the money to do it all at once.

The most pressing needs at United are the footballing operations and the squad. First and foremost they need to continue building out the organization and that means paying for Ashworth to join. Then they need to do a lot of work on the squad. Won't be done in one transfer window but they also can't just make 1-2 moves. That's going to cost money. Given FFP and the fact we aren't going to qualify for CL, firing ETH just doesn't make sense because you not only have to pay him 10 million to go away, you also have to pay compensation for his replacement (unless they go for someone like Potter who is available for free but I just don't see that happening).

His contract ends in June 2025 but United have an option for an additional year. It's unusual for a manager to enter the last year of his contract because of the uncertainty that inherently brings. That's about the only signal short of a catastrophic meltdown in the final 11 games of him perhaps leaving at the end of the season. But if I were betting, I'd bet he stays. If they manage to get in a lot of quality over the summer and the team still looks poor, he'll be gone by October.

A lot easier when the other team's defenders keep committing stupid fouls in the penalty area.

If anyone doesn't like the team that got picked…. You don't want to look at the bench. It's Amad, Antony, Amrabat, Erikson, and lots of youth players.

No doubt. This was the injury list.

Manchester United injuries: Maguire (knock), Martnez (leg), Shaw (muscle), Wan-Bissaka (leg), Malacia (knee), Mount (calf), Forson (knock), Hjlund (msucle) Martial (groin)

40% of the starting lineup - out. The rest were spot starters and 1st off the bench depth players.

12+ minutes at a minimum to watch Arambat.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Well. That was. Something.

Hey 3 points are 3 points but if we're primarily using the rest of this season to prepare for next then that game did not do anything for ETH's chances of being the manager in August.
