I just read an interesting article on Paul Pogba. Hes been suspended by Serie A for a failed drug test. Hes admitted taking a supplement that contained testosterone. Hes waiting on the B sample test to return. He could face a 4 year ban.

Sancho will not be training with the squad. Hes in a public fight with EtH over being dropped against Arsenal and go0t himself kicked out of the training ground.

A $10B club. Yep.

I get it. Being an owner of a major sports team is fun. You get to go cool places and have the team pay for it. You get to be wined and dined. It's fun.

But the price is you are the public punching bag if things go bad.

The Glazers like the fun parts so much they don't want to give it up. Fine. But you can't have your cake and eat it to. You get to be the punching bag.

Apparently he refused to apologize to ETH for his Insta post and that got him banished. I don't know if ETH offered an apology...or exactly what has gone on behind the scenes (obviously). I do know that there has been significant reporting and proof of both ETH and the club being patient with Sancho and soliciting help for him (if I remember correctly, he spent months with a sports psychologist) as he tries to work through some stuff. This does seem to be a bit like the Dele Alli situation where the man just struggled mentally with...all of it for lack of a better phrase. And that definitely complicates things.

And I also know that if you aren't willing to give a simple apology for an act that, at best was ill conceived even if it was fundamentally accurate (though don't know that it was), then you're making it impossible for there to be a realistic path forward at the club. And all of that "for the badge" stuff comes off as a load of nonsense.

It's a sad situation really which is the most important thing. But financially, it's yet another massive blow for United. I don't see a realistic path to how they can recuperate even half of what they paid for him.

Yep. He is one of a long line of very expensive players that turned into very expensive busts.

Spending money isn't a problem. We just spend it like drunk on Bourbon Street.

The Glazers don't need to own Manchester United to be wined and dined or to enjoy the "fun parts."

It's business for them, pure and simple. Not that this is a good thing, but it is simply an investment for them.

I'll say this about the non-goal. I think it's out but they are just guessing. If there is no camera angle down the line you can't know for sure. The AR would be blinded by the posts and unless they see clear daylight they can't tell either.

That shot they showed down the line looked pretty clear to me. You can definitely see green between the line and ball.

There has been some really nice combination play in the 1st half, though. Just same old story with inability to finish and getting beat on the counter for their one shot on goal.

It's just in the goal AFAIK. It's not a full Hawkeye system on all the touchline.

Goal line technology uses 14 special cameras aimed specifically at the goal line to capture the images and create the 3D rendering. I would guess that it would take 100+ to adequately cover the end line. Cost isn't worth the reward.

Gun to my head, I'd say it was out. But it was either in by a millimeter or our by a millimeter. At those margins, it's basically just flipping a coin, and whatever the result, one side is going to feel screwed.

Kind of unbelievable to say, but I would expect the pressure to ratchet up on ETH significantly when Bayern beat us on Tuesday. There is a run of relatively easy teams after Bayern and before City on the 10/29. United is going to have to win them all and look good doing it if they want to turn this season around.

If they're smart, they don't do it midseason unless they have a permanent replacement already lined up. That never works out well unless you're battling relegation and just looking for a momentary surge to keep you safe.

And I can't imagine who in their right mind that is better than ETH would want to insert themselves into the complete cluster**** that is Manchester United. You get to play for horrible ****ing owners, for a front office that has no idea what it's doing, and has no ****ing money to spend their way out of the mess.
