Mccarthy's play design is abysmal
Holy cow... I watched that before reading the comments... I was thinking it was a "Dak was very poor" film analysis. But as I'm watching it I'm thinking... geez, Dak is completing passes when NOBODY was really even open.
And as I kept watching I'm seeing a bunch of similar routes bringing all the defenders into the same zones. There is nowhere to go with the ball.

Well they did bring in 2 veteran DTs, a veteran LB and a new coordinator. They tried it's just not working. I'm shocked at how uncreative Zimmer has been.
On offense yeah the RB room stinks.
Yep, The book is out on how to beat the Cowboys. Run the ball and don't worry about the Cowboys being able to run effectively on you. We are hamstrung with current personnel.
I was totally disgusted after last season and throughout most of the off-season. As the season came closer I started talking myself into optimism that it really can't be that bad. Then they looked so good against the Browns. I made the mistake of allowing myself to get excited.
Of course, all of that came crashing down against the Saints. Now I am back to disgusted.

I think it's difficult because most of us here have been watching the Cowboys & Aggies for at least 20 years. Talk about 2 football programs stuck in mediocrity!!!!

If we can get a few quick scores, then our pass rush can dominate like against Cleveland. If we get down early, then it's pretty much over. Our team is built to be front-runners, which is the most Cowboy appropriate thing ever

so not only are they the worst team in the league against the run, they are almost 3x worse than the second worst team. historically bad.
i will be very surprised if mccarthy makes it to the end of the season.

It's a Zimmer/personnel problem. We haven't invested in a DT in a decade until Mazi and Mazi sucks. All the rest of them are nobodies or over the hill retreads.
And then one of our DEs is really just a pass rush specialist that we spent a top 10 pick on bc we refuse to play him in the middle.
