This morning it has become crystal clear the attorneys agree the one hold out is for conviction. It is 11-1 in favor of that ridiculous NG by RI verdict.

But if the jury saw it your way, why has it taken so long? Shoulda been a slam dunk, right?

Look stud…I haven't followed **** on this case…sounds like you've followed wall-to-wall coverage, so maybe you're spot on…

But the fact remains that most slam dunk guilty verdicts come back pretty quick (unless you're OJ)…this one is taking quite some time, so it's not unreasonable to think that the jury may have struggled more than you obviously did…and if they have struggled, then it's not impossible to think that they could have struggled due to the doubt potentially raised by the "husband angle", whatever that was…

Yeah, they are struggling, because a significant % of modern women are basically completely brainwashed and/or mentally ill...and just given the number of females on this jury (9), the odds were always in favor of their being at least 1 or 2 smooth brained over-medicated LC supporters or sympathizers.

THIS COULD NOT BE MORE OF A SLAM DUNK. Every bit as bad as Andrea Yates. Completely pre-meditated and methodical. And her and her lawyer admit to it. Not a single person involved in this case is even indirectly implying that it may have possibly been Patrick Clancy.

Toxic/suicidal empathy is what we are seeing. It's all over social media and highly disturbing. A large % of women on social media operate so much in fairytale land, they believe Patrick Clancy (the only surviving victim who everyone's heart should break for) did it.

I am not even sure women (or even certain minorities) should serve on juries at this point. Which is a huge reversal from how I used to think just a few years ago.

I'll take your word for it that it's crystal clear that's how this jury is cutting, then that at least squares with my thoughts yesterday and why the defense would want to just remove that juror…

Can't imagine why the defense would want to remove a juror that was their only remaining hope for a mistrial, if it looked like the cards were stacked against them with the other 11…

No offense, but this is obvious.

None taken…I have a life and job…don't spend hours on end watching trial coverage and popping bon-bons in my face…

I was merely wondering out loud what might be causing the jury to struggle…that's it…

I haven't watched a single millisecond of this trial, and I have a much better and more informed grasp than the majority of the women who have clung to every second of it on the edge of their seat. This seriously has a lot of men chattering about repealing the 19th. And they are dead serious. Almost every woman I know of who is deeply following the trial, ranges from super-sympathetic to LC, to outright supporting her and blaming it on her husband one way or another. There is a serious sickness that has infected a large % of women in our society.

They should not hold any positions of power or authority. And should in no way be involved in steering our country or our culture...they'll steer both right off a bridge.

There are obviously a lot of great women with their heads on straight, but can;t risk it. This "patriarchy" bogeyman they always screech about needs to become a real thing and take the wheel completely. Women have never run societies for a reason. Our ancestors were not idiots.

In Massachusetts an insanity plea is essentially default accepted as true, unlike in the vast majority of states, and the burden is on the prosecution to prove a person that killed their 3 kids is in fact sane. That's what they are debating. 11 people apparently believe that it is believable that she was so out of touch with reality that she didn't know what she was doing and one person is saying she was definitively competent enough to know what she was doing was wrong, which is why she sent her husband out of the house.

Slippery f-ing slope. Could make the same argument about Thomas Johnson, the former A&M WR who legit went into a schizophrenic episode and hacked up two random joggers one morning in Dallas with a machete.

Seriously, what is the difference? A large % of murders and violent crimes are committed by people who are completely off their rocker. The man who killed this woman was crazy. Are we only going to treat female psycho-killers with kids gloves? Or just female-psycho killers who limit it to murdering their own children in cold blood?

If I am understanding the judge and attorneys correctly, the 11 jurors are complaining that the male juror hold out was not following the judges instructions because he disagrees with them. Reminds me of my last workplace prior to retirement and also the Henry Fonda movie. Finally, I had to choose between my job and my dignity and I made the right choice. I hope the same for that man.

Maybe I'm just a contrarian but if I was on that jury and the lone holdout was removed I would switch my position on principle and holdout for a mistrial.

Shame on the other men for not digging their heels in for murder charges. Spineless liberal cowards.

Hold the f* on....y'all are saying the reason this is taking so long is because there is one holdout male who says she is guilty and the other 11 say she's innocent?

After this trial was kicked off with the Defense saying she killed her own kids?

Do we know this for certain? If so, those 11 jurors need to be purged and deported.

No they are saying the other 11 think she's not guilty by reason of insanity. That's not the same as innocent by any stretch.

Yep, I think there is one man who isn't entertaining "insanity" as an excuse to murder the three small people who loved and trusted you more than anyone in the world.

We live in a completely broken society and I would not blame God if he sent a comet, or just pelted us with disasters over time.

I do have concerns if this ends up being a mistrial, the next trial may not be different. It opens the door for the possibility that at some point, the state won't keep retrying the case and she won't be remanded back to a mental health facility...meaning she is a free woman. Unless I'm mistaken (which is quite possible), that scenario is at the very least plausible.

I saw the opening arguments this morning and the attorneys were in agreement on that issue. The defense attorney was quite explicit about the vote being 11-1 for a NG by RI verdict.

She will end up being not guilty. No way any jury will unanimously convict her. Best case scenario is she loses as much Go Fund Me money as possible on her lawyer.

NGRI is an acquittal. It's just an acquittal for which the judge can send her to a psych hospital for an indeterminate amount of time with an extremely short minimal stay requirement.

Per the defense the note from the foreperson says the juror "has made statements acknowledging doubt but refuses to apply it to the verdict as the law states."

Retrial greatly benefits the prosecution. They made a very muddled and disjointed presentation of evidence and didn't have a clear theory of what they believed happened. I think they could make a better case the second go-round. That being said, the amount of publicity this case has gotten means unlikely to find a jury willing to go against a social media mob and convict if necessary.

But it's not innocent. Innocent means you didn't do it. NGRI means I admit I did it but I have a get out of jail free card.

If she were found NGRI and sent to an institution for the rest of her life because she is found to be so nuts that she is a danger to herself and to society, I would probably be ok with that. She's in jail, just a nicer jail. And jail is meant to keep you out of society. Yes it means other things but it keeps you out of society.

Is that justice for those 3 kids? Nope. Justice is her hanging from a short rope in a tall tree. And those 3 kids deserve some justice. But jail isn't about justice.

Of course we all know that's not going to happen. She's going to get NGRI and spend a month or 2 getting her meds adjusted and get let out. And those 3 don't get justice when that happens. That's what the jury is missing here.
Fenrir

Eh...to me an acquittal is an acquittal. OJ was no more or less "innocent" despite being found "not guilty".

I'm pretty sure the jury was informed that is a possibility by the judge actually. If so they should be aware.

The jury is not supposed to consider punishment when discussing their verdict. They are specifically instructed not to do so.

Well, maybe he made those comments earlier, changed his mind & now has no doubt. Who's to say?

I feel this is bullying. Reddington is trying his best to push his position - telling the judge to step up his delivery & essentially target the lone juror. I thinks it's crazy that we know the count, the majority position & that they are targeting a sole juror. This all seems way out of line.

How I see it:

When Covid hit, I observed nearly everybody around my family and I overtaken with the coronavirus dogmatism.

Similarly, many people today have been overtaken with the psychologization of society and mental illness being the explanation for criminality, depravity, and whatever atrocity man might be capable of committing thereby absolving people of moral responsibility.

Like my family and I were on an island beset by zealots and true believers I imagine this lone individual similarly beset. He knows it's a farce and is holding out against the insanity of the times.

That 1 male juror's life is over as he knows it. We will know who he is by the end of the day, and he will probably have to move somewhere else, and his life will be ruined more than hers. We are not a serious country anymore.
