Well, looks like Trump really is going to avoid all of the debates. It was pretty clear he'd get exposed in them, but even I didn't think he'd be this frightened of them.

Remember when he was cowardly avoiding the first debates, and even MAGA said it was just the first few and he'd go to the latter ones?

Nothing will defeat Trump.

He's convinced too much of an emotional hold on his followers and they won't listen to any rational discussion. Every debate on the issues turns into "well, it doesn't matter if he'd be a better POTUS, he won't be Trump because we're voting for Trump"

I didn't make a comment about defeating him.

I only commented that nominating him was a loser for the general.

But, the way to beat Trump is to get close in the first several caucuses (or is it cauci?) and primaries. This would show that the polls were WAY off.

His inevitability is his main selling point right now to everyone that isn't diehard MAGA. If that bubble gets popped, he'll be in a HUGE fight going forward. And he WILL have to debate and really campaign, not what he's been doing.

Tonight we'll see if that can happen.

There is a local tv station here. Not going to lie, there's a ton of trump hats on in the room. The whole county is in the high school right now. Then we break up in the what part of the county you live. See a few Haley pins also. Just got in

Council Bluffs Iowa in Pottawattamie County showed a lot of middle age. Big contrast to other sites CNN showed.

Based on some of the reports I've seen so far, rural area folks ARE having some trouble making it in.

That's bad for Trump, because as we all know from repetitive learning, rural America loves Trump, and if they can't make it, that will hurt him.

So far, turnout seems good. Our area was hit about as hard as anywhere in the state for weather. All age ranges. Sitting by Haley supporters. Interesting to hear their reasoning I would say a large % of the younger people here have trump apparel on though
