They are running a recap of the three recaps in a couple of weeks.

I'm a huge fan of 24...watched it since the beginning and I think it's the best show on network television. My girlfriend had never seen it. She watched Lost religiously last season and told me she thought it was best, and I had never watched it.

So, this year we've been watching both. I've never seen an episode from the first season, but I read everything I could about the plot before the second season began, and I transitioned into it fairly easily. There may be once every episode where I have to ask her something about last year, but I've been able to keep up.

That said, I haven't been impressed with Lost at all. I'm going to keep watching it (for this season at least) because she loves it, and I can't imagine that every critic who loved it last season could be that wrong.

But, this has to be the slowest moving plot of all-time. Nothing too significant ever seems to happen...I guess the fact that they have a new episode about once a month doesn't help. But I just don't get it. I don't like that you spend half the episode backtracking into the life of one of the characters...first these characters are pretty dull. I like Jack, Locke, Kate and Echo...outside of those characters, I don't give a crap about what they did before they got to the island, or really even what they're doing now. I want to know about the island and what's going on in present time.

Is the show that much worse than it was last season, or is it just overrated in general?

24 is also my favorite show. S4 was sorta weak, but it came back strong this year.

I am hooked on Lost as well. I also started watching this season. What got me hooked I think was watching last season on DVD. When you burn through the entire season in a week, it's pretty addicting and the sometimes slow progress is not aggravating. Watching S2 in real time has been a bit painful with the slow progress and the ridiculous amount of breaks they take (they *really* need to follow 24's lead and run straight through). Had I not already been hooked, I could see how it would be tough to get into it this year. What saves the show are the characters are done well, the main plot no longer seems to be the focus of the show. I am hoping for a strong finish.

The first season was REALLY good. It was different than anything before it and the characters were revealed in backstories from their lives before the crash. In the stories, you picked up bits and pieces of how all the characters might have interplayed. It was also very spooky and I remember getting a sick feeling in my stomach several times when something significant was revealed. Now, not so much.

This season was quick losing my interest. If they do next season this way, I'll skip it all together and catch it on DVD.

I think the back stories are what make the show... and that is why you need to see season 1... b/c so much was learned about how each of the characters were connected before the flight...

I agree there have been some slow moments this season... but its working towards something (mainly may sweeps)

You're watching the wrong show then. This series is 95% character driven. If you want rapid plot advancement with little to no character development, well, you're already watching 24.

While I like the backstories and character development, I would think most people would agree that plot advancement has been lacking. But I think at least part of that is the long breaks in between episodes.

This is what Invasion seems like to me.

I think Invasion gives us answers quicker than Lost does. I like Lost a heck of a lot more though.

I tried very hard to like Invasion, after almost FINALLY picking up speed.

I tivo'ed the marathon they did on Famliy Channel a few weeks and caught up. I'm not sure it would have held my interest week to week but watching several episodes at once worked for me. I'll Tivo to the end of this (what will probably be the only) year.

Sorry for the topic hijack! Back on topic: Lost is new this week.

So according to the previews, Michael comes back and says the Others are barely armed and Ana Lucia makes out with Sawyer. I think Michael's just making this up so he can get people to try and get Walt back with him and Ana Lucia is probably trying to get a gun or something from Sawyer. Just my two theories.

NoACDamnit
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Oh god. It's an Ana-Lucia episode.

Maybe she'll die in this one.

Is that the same hotel that some of the other charcters stayed at?

I believe so.

My money is on this season ending with them entering into the Others' hatch. Nice symmetry.

Jin giving Hurley the thumbs up is the funniest thing I've seen all week.

Who was Henry talking about when he said Ana had killed of his people?

Goodwin and who else? Do you think he was talking specifically to Ana or to the survivors as a whole?

Libby SOOOOOO knows she was in the ward with Hurley.

I wonder if she's actually a shrink or just knows how they act from when she was crazy.

He didn't kill Henry. He shot himself in the arm.

Now he can blame it on Henry and make sure everyone is out for blood.
The Fife
How long do you want to ignore this user?
seriously, i couldn't tell where he was pointing the gun at the last shot. like at himself but not a suicide? i'm not sure if he shot the guy in the hatch or not.

edit: ok, that's kind of what it looked like. makes sense.

He shot himself in the arm. It showed him in the previews for next week in a sling. He was there to let Henry go.
