Well they sure made a come back this week. Eko's story is the best so far.

The Shadow is what Locke saw in season one that made him smile. Locke did not fear it. Much like Eko did not fear it, and it left them alone. When it tried to drag Locke into the hole he was ok with it, as in he felt it was testing him.

I can't remember, did the blond guy recite Psalm 23 with Eko incorrectly, too, or did he start reciting the Psalm after Eko made the mistake?

Yeah, I think he pinched it off and jumped into the first available seat.
I've heard the 23rd psalm said before as "shadow of the valley of death." I know it is incorrect, and I think Echo knew it wasn't correct. I'm not saying that he intentionaly said it the wrong way, it is just how some people talk.
As I was writing this I remembered one other time when I heard someone say the 23rd psalm this way... X-men 2: the blue guy that can telaport says it this way.

I think I have this thing figured out. It has got to be some sort of altered mental state these people are in.
There are just too many coincidences for it to be anything else.
The thing that pushed it over the top was the black cloud showing all of Ekos past (troubled, like everyone else on the island) and how he stood and faced it. Not ashamed of what he had done (as he explained to his brother).
That along with Locke walking. I know Ive accepted this from the moment it happened......but COME ON! Only in some weird dream can you lose your paralysis and walk again...and then suddenly start to get it back...and lose it again.
I hate to say it, but this show is about people dealing with conflicts in their past through some sort of psycho-analytical experiment.
I guess thats ok with me....it will make for a hell of an ending.....but I'm done believing in this mysterious place. They lost me when Eko stared down his past and was able to overcome whatever it was that had been weighing him down.

There might be something with Eko's name too. The Nigerian people traditionaly have phrases as names and take a small piece of the phrase as their short name. The phrases may tell a story of how the person came to be or something that was going on at the time of their birth.
My boss for instance, his last name is Olubeko. Olu meaning God or one with God, if I remember correctly. Can't remember what Eko meant though. I'll see if I can get that answered.

I saw Matthew Fox in an interview and he said tonight's episode somehow shed light on why he (Jack) gives Kate such a hard time.

a) Michael had to go after Walt alone (unless the Others told him to when they were posing as Walt on the computer) and
b) why Jack et al weren't going out to help Michael find Walt, rather than going out to bring Michael back (presumably without Walt). Unless that was all part of Jack's desire to 'save' people.

I hate when people say obvious things aren't obvious. Aside from the fact that it's the same person, the directors throw you a bone in case you didn't notice that. Sawyer SAYS he's the one who was on the boat.
And I don't think they were clueless as to how many days the 815 crew has been on the island. It was a rhetorical question. ie "How long have YOU been here? I've been here for years."
It didn't look to me like Ethan confused him at all. I think it was more a matter of "Don't think you're so smart because we're more in control than you think."
I'd say one things for certain though - no one's theories about what's going on are right. They have something bigger in mind.
