I listened to that clip and it sounds like, "Don't press the button. The button's bad."
I didn't see every episode last year, but didn't Rousseau's crew all get infected and die of something? Maybe that's why the quarantine sign is on the inside of the hatch, and why Desmond asked if anyone was ill. Maybe he's connected with Rousseau's group somehow for his 'race around the world?'
The ending tonight was CRAZY!!!

If you're talking about just this episode, the flashbacks were all about Michael (the African-American dad) and only five of the thirteen characters were even featured in tonight's episode. Hell, they didn't even show the hot white chick from Malibu who's falling in love with the former officer in the Republican Guard.

That is excellent that you caught that. I totally missed it. I did enjoy how the clock reset to 108 when the code was executed (but that was obvious). I've got to think that Desmond has to re-enter the code every 108 minutes or he may lose life support or something like that (which wouldn't make sense now due to the hatch being breached). WTF is going on?

I'm beginning to think they're throwing things in there just for the Tivo-crowd. I missed that shark's brand and went back through and paused it. I don't know how you'd catch that the first time through. You'd need better eyes than me, for sure!
no lie. my wife saw the mark on the shark the first time we saw it. She yelled out, "the mark is on the shark!!" I glared at her for making me pause it and go back to watch for it but she was right. First seeing and it was like she knew it was coming. I was, and am, impressed.
I have a random question that maybe somebody on here can answer.....What happened to the old lady that lost her husband. The last episode i remember with her she was sitting on the beach by herself and jack went to go talk to her.
they haven't referenced her in awhile. my guess is that they'll bring her back into the fray sometime this year.

This show is a perfect example of why I like movies better than TV. If the show's making money, the network will drag it out for 6 or 7 seasons until the advertising dollar falls off. By then, the original writers are gone, and the ends are tied up with quick fixes.
I wish this had been a 10 part mini-series so we could see how these loose ends tie up before we're all grandparents and no longer care.
Other than that, great show. I watch it for the tropical setting. I try not to think too much when I'm watching TV.

I don't think so.... I think in this case they will keep the writers around for as long as possible. Plus the core group of people who created the show are involved in the writing and it's not as if they are going to sell the series to someone; they'll be around.
On anther note the show appears to be more cohesive and thought out. The first season it was obvious they didn't expect the show to be as popular as it was and ordered more shows and created more plot lines as the series progresses. I'm pretty sure this season is all mapped out nice and neatly.

According to the DVD's they have a story outlined for the next 5 or six seasons.

The actress was unavailable for filming and they don't want to cast anyone else. We may see her husband, but don't expect to see Rose this season.

Damn, I have hi definition with Tivo and didn't catch the mark on the shark!
I saw something on the shark, and was going to rewind it, but my wife said it was the logo before reseeing it. She's good like that.
Doug, your wife is f'in nuts. That is something I know to be true.
So does Walt's dad still have the gun from shooting the shark? Sawyer gets knocked out on the beach so obviously he won't be using it soon if he got it back from him.
FWIW, My 9 year old saw it on the shark, I missed it.

This show is greatness. We really didn't learn anything of significance this week until we saw the previews for next week. Jack said "You" at the end of last week, and this week. We know their will be a new/old character next week (chick hitting on Jack before the flight) and more than likely next weeks show will mostly be her back story and we'll see some fighting b/w Walt, Jin, Sawyer vs. "the others" who are appearently sick (which we saw in the previews for next week!).
The writers of this show all deserve a raise. They've got millions of us hooked and we're really not learning anything specific about the island in the next few weeks. There is also dozen's of more characters that are survivors who can become part of the story and they can dedicate half a show to their back story as well. I can easily see them having 5-6 seasons of shows.
I love this show and when it ends my wife and are always like “aahhhh…crap, it’s over”.
Here's a thought, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who plaed Adebesi on Oz, is a Nigerian, and he was the big dude that was in the front of the people coming after Jin, Sawyer and Michael.

Actually, the people that were chasing Jin at the end of episode 2 are another group of survivors from flight 815 - the tail passengers. They've been living on the opposite side of the island & have had a much harder time during their stay than the original group. They're not as civilized as the originals because of the hardships they've faced. I believe they have come in contact with "the others" a number of times.
I also think that the big, black dude that was chasing Jin is one of the Nigerian drug smugglers whose plane also crashed on the island.

Agracer, I don't think he's in Rousseau's actualgroup that's been there 16 years, but maybe associated with her "organization" (if they had one) that went on these expeditions? I only wonder because he mentioned the bit about being sick, and the quarantine label on the inside of the hatch.How would he know about the risk of getting sick? Maybe they heard rousseau's transmission and built that crazy hatch?

Good theory, but they big black guy is played by the same guy that played Adebise on Oz...I said his name earlier, but I'm too lazy to look it up.
