Trisha Ford's Ags climb to No. 11 in ESPN.com/USA Softball Week 10 Poll

Heating up at the right time.

Coming off a rare road sweep, Texas A&M softball checks in at No. 11 in Week 10’s ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll.

Trisha Ford’s Aggies went into the Magnolia State and took care of business, sweeping an Ole Miss team whose record is deceiving.

Although they have only won two conference games, the Rebels were receiving votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Poll a week ago.

Kennedy Powell led the way at the plate, hitting .538 on the weekend. Beyond the leadoff slapper, KK Dement, Micaela Wark and Kelsey Mathis all stood out to help the Aggies plate 27 runs in three games.

It wasn’t the greatest weekend for the A&M pitching staff, with a team ERA of 6.33. After taking an early lead on Saturday and Sunday, Ole Miss continued to claw and made things slightly uncomfortable.

Yet, the Aggies clinched a two-run ballgame on Saturday and a one-run game in the finale.

Winners of seven of their last eight games, it’s beginning to click for Ford’s Aggies.

There’s no better time than late April to hit their stride as the postseason picture comes into focus.
