I'm still trying to understand how any of this is me being selfish. I'm the biggest complainer about spoilers and have even called you out before for posting leaked set pictures before.

Confirmation that it's a spoiler = a guarantee that staff takes action. Letting it linger on the thread = more and more people being spoiled, but at least *you* didn't know it was a legit spoiler. I'm trying to think of other people, you're only thinking about yourself.
What was posted previously is not good. I agree. I'm not defending it.
But based off the trailer. Stuff on Ferrix blows up. One episode left so it happens next week. Something happens. The spoiler got into the details. I'm just saying if you saw the official trailer, then you knew there are explosions on Ferrix. That's all.

You're making a pretty big logical leap. I called BOTH of them out. And please point out where I said it should linger on the thread.
If we didn't confirm it was a spoiler, but like two people flagged it as trolling or whatever, staff very likely wasn't going to remove it. Thus, letting it linger.

Wheres your strategy would have ironically led to the post likely remaining in the thread, and thus far more people reading it/being spoiled.

Aggie_Journalist *literally* posted a detailed spoiler breakdown of the finale of the best show of the year. Six days before it airs. And passed it off as a "prediction." The action I took, by taking a peek at reddit myself, to confirm whether his post contained legit information or not, and then confirming here that his post was, in fact, a massive spoiler, is what directly led to his post being deleted. In other words, I thought it better to potentially sacrifice my own eventual enjoyment of the finale so that others wouldn't have to read what Aggie_Journalist wrote and be spoiled too. I'm not the bad guy here, and I'm not at all in the wrong. While your strategy, again, would have likely led to the spoilers remaining in the thread, for who knows how long, and far more people being spoiled for the finale. I truly don't understand how you or anyone else could argue with a single word of what I'm saying.

Oh goodness, um, to be clear, what I wrote was 100% guess and conjecture. I haven't been on Reddit. No idea what's on there that's being referred to. I think it's a fun game to try to guess what's coming when I watch shows and do that in the threads of everything I watch. You'll can see me whiffing on some guesses earlier in this thread.
Usually I'm wrong, sometimes I'm right. There was a GoT thread where I guessed a certain character would have their hand cut off because it would lead to the most compelling character development, and that ended up being correct. But usually I'm wrong or just partly right.
So. Anyone who read my post. I promise I have zero insight and it could be totally wrong. I was purely putting on my writer hat and speculating where the story might go. It was not a spoiler.

Your strategy would have led to the spoilers still being in the thread, and that's what I have a problem with. Beyond that, my solution got rid of the spoilers, yours wouldn't have. The irony is that while I love to guess where a story will go, I'm the most anti spoiler person my friends know. I hate spoilers. Don't look for them. Will walk out of a room when folks discuss where a show or book I'm reading will go so I can enjoy it with fresh eyes.

On one hand, I've never had any issues with you in the past, and you've always seemed pretty nice/level headed. But then, today, you just so happen to get multiple things not only right, but spot on, just one day after said info was posted on reddit, with a screenshot from the final episode to prove the leaked info is real. I'm just saying, it's really hard to believe that's a coincidence, but I also don't want to unfairly malign you. So, yeah, I don't know what to think...

If we want to make it a rule of the forum that nobody is allowed to speculate what might happen in any show on the off chance that they'll be right, we can do that. But I'm hardly the only person who has made a guess at where a show is going to go.
Maybe we all just have a bit of trust in each other that when someone posts a "guess" or a "prediction," that's what it is. Nothing more. And if you've seen actual spoilers confirming that guess, keep it to yourself?

I don't think we should ban speculation. That's half of what this board is, and 99.9% of the time it's fun/innocuous. If you really didn't know any spoilers, and happen to hit a bullseye, a day after said bullseye was posted on Twitter, this is likely only ever going to happen every decade or so, given the astronomical odds.
Get a room dorks. Way to ruin an awesome show. Go post about Elon Musk on Twitter or something more productive than this.
