I haven't combed through all of the recent posts, but is $1.5 billion a likely finishing point for The Odyssey?

Yeah, but imagine if they hadn't gone woke with the casting. There at least seven more tickets they could have sold.

I mean, you do $80M on Sat and $60M on Sun, both of which I think are laughably low, and you've cleared $300M.

I'm at theater for Spider-Man now, and this place is packed. Every since the pandemic the theater nearest me has been empty, to the point I keep expecting it to be shut down. When we came to see Disclosure Day, my son and I were the only ones in the theater. The Odyssey was about 3/4 full on opening night. Today, though, the line was out the door to get in (haven't seen that since College Station). Every Spider-Man showing today is essentially sold out (no more than 2 seats together). It's crazy how busy this place is. I haven't seen anything like this since the pandemic... Are movies back?

What's crazy is not only this weekend being either the #1 or #2 biggest weekend BO of all time, but the fact that it could very well be toppled in December.

If this was college football, the sips just had a last minute TD with an overhyping broadcaster.

Not saying movie theaters are going to crater after this year….its just too early to say anything with only having one year showing actual strong positive growth….

Let it marinade for a bit….

Definitely feels like it did 10-15 years ago at the theater today. Pretty awesome to see. Though, even the big, flagship AMC here in LA is severely understaffed. Kind of crazy they weren't more prepared.

A weak joke, but comparing the comment movies are back to one of the greatest recent sports meme….

While it's been awesome, it's also only been 7 months of awesome compared to years of not….this year will be great….but let's have great theater performances 3-4 years in a row before we declare they're back.

Oops wrong thread...

On another note, finally saw Disclosure Day and I give it about 2 stars, what a let-down.

168 million through Friday domestically…too bad Disney won't be getting very much of the massive profit this movie is going to be…
