Thought he meant globally.. wicked had never been shown as a musical outside of the US, so not a surprise it doesn't do well outside the US

Mufasa continuing a remarkable turnaround, making $10.37m on New Year's Day to reach $138m in 10 days of release.

Based on its opening weekend of #s, it was projected to be at $63-$86m right now.
For some reason Sonic 3 hasn't reported its numbers since December 29th

Moana 2 was #2 on the kid friendly holiday with $5.14m, then Nosferatu at $4.96 and Wicked at $4.6m.

Moana is up to $409m and Wicked to $437m. Moana is now #43 all time and Wicked is # 32, passing Toy Story 4 yesterday.
Wicked is third in all-time musicals, behind Beauty and Beast ($504m) and Frozen II ($477m)

Bob Dylan doing really well at $3.2 m up to $31m.

Kraven ... $475,000. Yup.

Mufasa wins the weekend with $23.826m and has closed a lead that was once $35m down to $19m as it tries to run down Sonic 3. Sonic is at $187.5, Mufasa at $168.6

Nosferatu made $13.2 m, followed by Moana 2 at $12.4m and Wicked at $10.2m.

Wicked cracks the top 30 all-time at #29 with $450m. It will pass Wakanda Forever next and should knock off Age of Ultron by the end of this week.

Moana 2 at $425m domestic and up to $960m global. It's 35th domestic, and will shortly become the 55th movies to make $1 bn worldwide. Only 11 animated movies have done so previously.

Mufasa vs. Sonic 3 continues to fascinate.

Based on its opening weekend, Mufasa was projected to be between $74-$107m right now. Instead it's at $174m. It's literally like everyone went to see Sonic 3 the opening weekend, and that was it, and then they all went to see Mufasa since.

Mufasa was at $35.4m after its opening week.
Sonic 3 was $60.1m after its opening week.

That's a lead of almost $25m. That lead is now down to $18m, and dwindling more every day.
Both movies are on their way to the Top 10 of 2024 since they opened then.

That will kncock out Kung Fu Panda 4 and Godzlla vs Kong: Fast Kong out of the top 10 for the year.

When those 2, Wicked, and Moana 2 all wrap up, we'll have to see how this year's top 10 did vs previous Post Covid years.
