Stuck seeing Spider Man in 3D with glasses (which I do not prefer) because that's all that was available (and barely available at that). And that's an order 2 weeks from opening day.

Apparently?

It has to have been at least 10 years since I've done it.

But it was that, or row 1 or 2, which was a worse option.

Practical Magic 2? Wasn't the first one kind of a bust considering the star power at the time? I guess it built a cult following I am unaware of over the past 30 years?

Curious…who can explain why some international markets have delayed openings….

For the odyssey, these 3 major international markets haven't actually started showing the movie yet:

South Korea: August 5th

China: August 14th

Japan: September 11th

Why is that and is this common? Can't say it's something I've personally come across a lot of course could've also easily missed. Is it due to issues with the film and having to edit for that market? Competitive market in that specific country?

I will say I'm assuming Marvel and Sony are happy with that because it means IMAX theaters in those countries will get Spider-Man for a bit before the odyssey takes over.

This also means we're gonna see some untypical spikes in the international box office for this thing over the next 8 weeks….

It's usually due to a local holiday season or sporting events we're not familair with, or to avoid competition with big/local theatrical releases (made in their respective countries, which often take priority). There are also dozens of other more minor reasons having to do with dubbing, piracy issues, certain distribution laws, etc. No idea which apply in these specific instances, though.
