Theatrical just passed $7b for the year. Should be to about $7.15b by the end of August. Some conservative quick math....
- $500m Sep
- $550m+ Oct
- $750m Nov
- $1.25b Dec
That means $10b is now a lock and more likely going for $10.2b-$10.5b+ for the 2026 total. More to come! pic.twitter.com/LxH1yuDAJf

Summer box office (domestic) finished 9.4% ahead of the pre-pandemic average, per FranchiseRe, and 26.6% ahead of last year. Year-to-date gross is now down just 7.2% from pre-pandemic levels. A pretty remarkable comeback.

Practical Magic 2 (9/11) and Resident Evil (9/18) are both tracking for $40M domestic debuts, per NRG, suggesting the summer box office momentum may continue into the fall.
