I'm actually thinking it's possible there might not even be another duel. The ending potentially resolves the "I was but the learner" line since Obi-Wan tricked him and they escaped there.

I'll also say this one is getting better the more I've sat on it, whereas the opposite was true for earlier episodes.

I rewatched the big scenes and the Vader vs Reva duel was actually pretty awesomely done. Vader handling her without even a saber in his hand is such a baller move.

Kennedy or Chow or someone told us there are two Obi-Wan/Vader duels, and we've technically had two already, so you might be onto something…

There's now way in hell Episode VI doesn't feature a duel where Obi-Wan exposes Anakin's complete lack of focus and balance now that he's seen that he has the same weak points in his game.

But I would expect that the duel takes a tremendous cost from Obi-Wan as well, which leads to what we see of him in ANH.

And of course the ghost of Qui-Gon doing his best Burgess Meredith from the great beyond.

... and then Obi-Wan not only leaving his phone unlocked, but *giving* it to a known scam artist, who of course drops it, leaving it behind... with Vader less than a hundred yards away.

It's sh*t like that, at least once per episodes, that makes Obi-Wan seem SO DUMB and careless.

So we have Reva being stabbed twice and living, and the Grand inquisitor being stabbed and revealed to be living, all in the same episode.

Meanwhile, the mining droid went down, didn't it shrug off a bunch of shots saving Kenobi? I guess he had critical plot shield failure.

The music is just bad. It doesn't feel like Star Wars, and it makes any scene with Vader seem weird.

I know Mando had different music too, but it felt like Star Wars to me. Idk.

So aside from the clearly lame/bad portions of the episode, there was some pretty cool visuals.
Vader just walking in and basically instantly stopping the shuttle from leaving was dope, the sound design was good for that. Then just ripping the doors and side off to see inside.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the force martial arts (only way I can describe it) he used against 3rd Sister.
Some of it was super cool, like stopping her saber swings with the force. I do like that they are at least trying to show a lot of uses of the force beyond just levitating something or grabbing something.

This episode was the best one so far and it still sucks.

Since everyone else already covered the intelligent critiques, I will call out the two lazy writing scenes that pissed me off.

1. When invading the base the empire made a point of lining up all of these soldiers and calling out the fact on the rebel side that the empire has heavy guns. We are fooked! Reva is screaming at STs to FIRE!!!!!

And then Reva simply stabs once through the big ass door with her lightsaber and immediately opens it. Never mind on the heavy guns.

2. At the very end they show Luke in bed and he has dark brown hair but somehow gets full blown blond hair about 10 years later? Kids go from blond to brown; not dark, dark brown to blond.

While I acknowledge that is nitpicky, it's just one more example of the lack of attention to detail. Laziest show ever with this budget and pedigree.

And I won't be watching a second season if they really hijacked these characters all for a Reva series. She sucks in this show. Out on that.

Also apparently they forgot to give Anakin his face scar in the Order 66 flashbacks.

I appreciated the flashbacks to their fight and Obi Wan seeing Anakin in Vader and in his actions. I thought that was some great layering.

What can I say… I really enjoyed the heck out of that episode. The critiques I've read are valid, but I am just a sucker for Vader, and they really gave us some amazing Darth in that episode.

While it was clearly an older Hayden, I didn't care because, frankly, I like this version of him better than 2002 Hayden. He just struck me as superior in every way. Slightly deeper voice, more imposing, and generally more compelling as an actor.

I do wonder… um, were those some sort of friendly-fire training sabers? I never understand movies that show friends swinging with all their might at their sparring partner. I mean, they were taking full swipes at heads.
