Spot on.

Plus, it should've shifted at some point from trying to escape, to seeking out Vader to try to turn him back. I guess they still could do that, but it's taken him far too long to get there.

I'm betting next episode will be the bacta, meditation, flashbacks, speaking with Qui-Gon, and training episode, before heading out to face him again.

Oh and you'd also fix that stupid ending of Vader letting him go and then almost killing Reva for losing him the next episode. Even if this is just his way of training Reva or getting rid of her, it's still dumb to me.

What sucks is even months ago when I looked up the writer, saw it was Joby Harold, and saw his IMDb credits, I did start to worry, but I just assumed someone at Lucasfilm would make sure the story was tiptop. But nope, this is what we got.

Filoni and Favreau should've done this instead of Boba Fett.

You see some of his old moves starting to come back.

I'm still liking it, but definitely agree some of it is just lazy. Tala taking out stormtroopers. Also the speeder vs Reva looked straight out of a C list SyFy channel film

I haven't posted in this thread yet but holy **** the international scene was atrocious. Ruined the episode for me. This show is not good.

This episode was more fun at least. Its a bad show, but I at least enjoyed this episode.

Maybe those stormtroopers wear armor that's more lightsaber resistant because they're going out on missions with the Inquistors that have a high probability of fighting someone with a lightsaber?

I'm sorry but this is such a damn stretch to try and make an excuse for sorry ass production.

TCTTS I'm on board with your thoughts.

We need TC to use his contacts to figure out, definitively, who is actually responsible for The Mandalorian being so good while the rest is....less good.

Though even that show has this exceptional character

Honestly, I think The Mandalorian is average TV at best, just way better at giving fans what they want.

Mando was able to be a Star Wars and wild west mashup, so it was different and cool.

The high points are admittedly great. I definitely enjoy the show overall. But IMO, at its core, it still has the same problems these other shows do… bad dialogue, thin plotting, a refusal to juggle multiple plot lines, etc,

You are in a very, very small minority my friend. I honestly have not heard of one critic, person on a message board, or actual friend/family member state that they are thoroughly enjoying this show. I think everyone can agree that the overwhelming majority of the audience has been disappointed to various degrees.

The overwhelming majority reaction I've seen and heard (on social media, just talking to friends) is people liking the show. I'm enjoying it despite its flaws, and most of the viewers are as well.

Yeah it was bad, we have to get at least one horrible visual per episode it seems

The word "thin" is exactly what I thought about in reference to this show. It just feels so cut rate. The camera work as you've stated is definitely poor. For some reason the cinematography for me just isn't working.

I too am watching Stranger Things at the same time as this show. I just can't believe how much more rich that show looks/feels/sounds.

And one more thing, when did the show called "Obi Wan Kenobi" become "Obi and Leia?" Admittedly the girl actress is doing I think a pretty good job in the role, but I just thought we'd be getting more Obi Wan. With how thorough their relationship is becoming in this series, it kind of messes with the original Star Wars.

All this does is mess with the original Star Wars. And it looks like crap too.

+1 as someone who is also watching Stranger Things at the same time. Two completely different universes of effort and talent in the writers room.

The only two things that have come out of Disney owning Star Wars have been:
1. Rogue One
2. The second TFA trailer.

Reva might be the biggest miscast I've seen in a while.

And it has nothing to do with race. I don't GAF who plays the role. It just needs to be acted well.

Better Obi-Wan in Ep4, but typical "mission" episode with all kinds of plot holes.

Haven't read through the thread, did anyone bring up already that the most elite task force in the empire built their military installation underwater with glass that wasn't rated for combat?

That's a hell of a value engineer, that sales guy must have made bank.

Now I want a series showing the Empire bureaucracy taking bids and picking the lowest bidder and all the trouble that follows.

Agree - but did clone wars come during disney? The end of it was pretty good. I liked most of mandalorian too. They just blew up the end of last season.

Yeah, people are forgetting there's some wild/bad episodes of the Mandalorian also.

I know I've hammered this home on this board on a couple threads, but it fits here so much. There needs to be someone watching these things whose only job is to go "is this fun to watch?"

I love Stranger things as a comp because the plot of Stranger things is kind of a mess, but nobody cares because it's just fun to watch. The chemistry of the characters is just electric, the visuals are great, the sound is awesome, etc.

This last episode was finally fun to watch. It was still bad, but I can overlook some of the silliness like Obi Wan sneaking her out under his coat, which had to be some kind of meta-bit, because it was mostly fun.

That said, I do think Reva's acting is, at times, possibly intentionally bad. She's pretending to be a bad ass inquisitor, when she really isn't. I think she's trying to find "the Path" to join it and disappear. When she's being watched by the empire, that's all an act. She clearly didn't want to hurt Leia, but feels like she has to.

I think this is possibly clue #452421 that the empire is doing some sort of force-sensitive cloning project.

Though when there will stop being clues about it and actually a show/movie about it I have no idea.

Yeah it is the same reason that had Grogu. Which I think is to make a perfect force using body for the Emperor

Wasn't it explicitly mentioned in the sequels or was I imagining things.

It was mentioned in passing as how the emperor could still be alive. One of the hobbits just said "cloning" like it was some kind of explanation for something.

But there's been all kinds of hints/clues/etc about it but we've never really seen it be an actual crucial plot point as far as I'm aware.

It was alluded to by Dom Monaghan for about 5 seconds total. That was their whole explanation for how Palpatine returned. The ultimate villian in the galaxy. Returned offscreen, between movies, with nary an explanation besides two lines of vague dialogue.

Oh and Snoke was, of course, a vaguely explained, crappy clone of Palpatine? The guy who was incredibly powerful and seemed to have a cool and mysterious untold backstory after the first movie, who we'd undoubtedly hear more about...

Sigh...
