That's true, throw him in Vaders tank when he's done bathing and the Inquisitor will be good to go

IPrincess Ardala was right up there with Daisy Duke & Wonder Woman for me in the early 80s:

I didn't know how to share their Facebook post - but their Facebook post begins with: "There are more than 20 million sentient species in the Star Wars galaxy, don't choose to be a racist."

It's her horrible acting that is irritating. She's trying so hard to be a bada** and it isn't working. She's coming off flat & without range. Plus she is working with pretty bad dialogue like when she was yelling at Obi-Wan's ship as he left the planet.

I think the actress is doing just fine.

I also think back to how poorly the actors who played Jar Jar and Rose were treated and some stories I saw about how much they were hurt by that treatment, so I can totally understand Star Wars wanting to try to nip that in the bud and support their performers.
Thanks and gig'em

Having said that, I do think ****ting on the child actor playing Leia is equally ridiculous. Just like Jake Lloyd back in 1999, she's doing exactly what she's asked to do, and doing it well. (Even better than Lloyd did, imo.)

I think the actors are doing fine. The story and dialogue just aren't that well-written (at least through two hours).

What the heck was this all about!?! I thought better and just deleted the rant I typed... let's just say this right here is complete garbage and Disney should be ashamed!

Caught up last night. Overall, enjoyed them quite a bit. I'm not here for Shakespeare; I'm here for Star Wars.

Two quibbles:
-While I think the girl playing Leia is "acting" well, she's too young. She looks 8 (probably because she was while filming), sounds 8, and runs like an 8 year old. They should have gone with a small sized 12-13 year old (which is typically the Hollywood custom, right?). My kids (13, 10, 8, 6) have made numerous comments about her being too young.

-The elaborate "hanging" of the jedi was silly. If you don't want a noose around his neck (which I get), hang him by his feet.

It was fun seeing Flea.

She's getting all kinds of racist hate comments and death threats. Posted directly to her social media accounts, merely for being in a Star Wars series. Should Disney have seen this coming? Sadly, yes. But at the same time, I don't at all blame them for sticking up for their employee. This isn't some unprovoked woke nonsense. It's a reaction to all the racist lunatics out there literally threatening to kill her.

I guess the biggest difference is that the scum that is social media is amplified 1000 fold now versus what it was in 2000 or so?

If there's death threats then obviously yes that's 100% wrong and I back up their defense of her but then say that's what's going on….

Simply saying, "intending to make her feel unwelcome in any way" pretty much says you can't criticize anything she does or your racist and I'm so tired of that

Figured this was gonna happen. Instead of talking about Obi Wan Kenobi, we're getting this sideshow.

Smh.

Why not try this Star Wars Twitter:

"We are aware that Moses Ingram has been receiving racist comments and death threats for her portrayal of Reva in the new Kenobi series. While we know these people are a small percentage of an amazing Star Wars community and country, we support Moses in all the amazing things she's done! Never turn to the dark side and may the Force be with you!"

So is the Grand Inquisitor going to come back or are we just assuming he gets revived somehow in time for Rebels?

Star Wars has become a universe where death is rarely permanent.

- Maul
- Emperor
- Boba Fett
- IG unit from Mando
- Fennec Shand (Boba Fett's partner)
- The sheriff in Book of Boba Fett
- (arguably) Vader

No reason they can't patch the inquisitor back up, too.

if they bring back the inquisitor, I hope they explain why they couldn't bring back qui gone from a similar skewering.

Thanks for clarifying.

I need to remind myself that most of the stuff on Twitter isn't reality and is just as made up as Star Wars. Posting any responses to it is pointless and my bad for taking the bate.

Life was better before social media (I don't use any of it, although my wife argues that TexAgs counts)

Because this would be a genuine way to engage with a fanbase, and Disney is anything but genuine.

Yea, I currently see it as a writing/direction issue for the character.

This was 100% my thought as well.

There is absolutely an issue with racism and the larger Star Wars fanbase. (Not the people on this thread, not any one person on this thread individually, the larger fanbase as a whole) Unfortunately, that shouldn't be TOO surprising for a fanbase (of the originals) that was born in the 50s and 60s and grew up during the height of the civil rights movement.

The actors who portrayed Jar Jar and Rose have dealt with it, and the actress who plays Reva is dealing with it now. I think she's doing fine as well - the writing is putting her in an awkward spot, and the writers deserve any negative feedback that's instead directed the actress' way IMO.

Heck, the one actor of color that gets a relative high level of praise in the Star Wars universe is a over the top stereotype of a 70s pimp. Its kinda cringeworthy.

I think it's a small subset of "fans" and I think putting the spotlight on them like this is just giving them more credence than they deserve. As usual the minority is the loudest.

Exactly, something like this would be perfect.

Although they weren't accusing all critics of racism, it can definitely be interpreted that way. I think more nuance was needed in that tweet.
