Yeah, I mean it's fine. It's clear they had something in mind and worked backwards to get us there, so I have some faith that that thing will be good.

But there was just some lazy writing in these first two episodes. The chase scene in the woods might be the worst sequence in Star Wars history (with the CGI horse things from The Last Jedi) and the whole sequence of the inquisitors on Tattooine was bizarre. Im also still trying to decide if it makes sense that the inquisitor knows Anakin is Darth Vader and/or that Obi Wan didn't know that Anakin survived.

But yeah, they got us where they wanted us so let's see the payoff.

Edit: slow moving Vespa chase from Book of Boba Fett is also a contender.

Minor gripes:
The meat mining was strange.

I like how when Star Wars wants to establish that an old hero is jaded and washed up they're going to have you doing something menial like milking walrusmen or carving meat out of a giant dead insect. They can never just be a space receptionist or insurance salesman like real jaded adults.
Should have opened with Kenobi running a Cinnabon at the mall in Mos Eisley.

It would be a meiloorun fruit stand.

I do hope they address how Reva knows. That is a major question.

They've established she's a force user and it's canon for dark users to be able to read thoughts/feelings (return of the Jedi Vader reading Luke and knowing Leia is his sister)….

And if shes an old padawan then it's feesable she could have read his thoughts and I thought it kind of implied that based on how it was edited

Ben Solo reading Poe's thoughts and trying to read Rey's thoughts.

I think the editing very much implied the opposite of that. She used Anakin's name to draw emotion from Obi Wan. She knew that info going in.

Nice.
Random guy: Whoa! Dude look. It's General Kenobi the Jedi Master!

Kenobi: Who? What? Oh goodness no, you have me me mistaken for someone else.

Random guy: No way dude. You're General Kenobi. I was a custodian at the Jedi Temple for a couple of years, saw you all the time. You totally kicked ass in the Clone War. Oh yeah that, sorry your clones turned on you dude. Always thought Cody was a little sketchy.

Kenobi: On my. Again, don't know who this Kenobi gentleman is but I am just, uh, Ben, just Ben making a modest living out here in the outer rim.

Random guy: Ok, yeah, whatever. Hey, is it true that you kicked the sh** out of Skywalker? Man, no one liked that guy, complained about everything. Rumor was you made him your bich on some lava planet after he killed the padawans. Nice!

Kenobi: Well, I did have the high ground......uh......I mean no, I don't know who you're talking about. <slowly waves hand> I think you would like to have a delicious cinnamon roll and be on your way......

Reva read fake Jedi's thoughts in episode 2 so she clearly has that ability. He told her he wouldn't tell her what she wanted and she replied that he didn't need to. She then took info about cargo pod destination straight from his thoughts.

She clearly has that power but doing it to Obi Wan from across the room without knowing his location would be a giant leap up from a non Jedi right in front of her.

I think it's pretty clear from her tone and how that scene was shot that she already knew Anakin was Vader. She didn't learn that from Obi Wan's thoughts.

Oh, yes, I agree. Was thinking she was probably close to Annakin at some point in her training as an I and learned through force osmosis.

Unless we have a Dark Rey on our hands and she's all mighty powerful.

I wonder if she knows Vader=Anakin because he found her during the temple purge and brought her into the fold.

I get what you're saying now.

I guess I shouldn't let that bother me much anyway. One of Star Wars' biggest plot issues has always been the flow of information around the galaxy. Nobody knows anything unless it's convenient for the plot. Palps did a bang up job deleting all the message boards and killing all the journalists.

So we spent 2-3 pages concentrating on all the subpar parts of the two episodes, but that still leaves probably 3/4 of each episode as quality tv imo.

They've done an excellent job showing us that Obi-Wan is not the same person he was 10 years ago, and is weary and beaten down. Rather than just giving us that exposition in a single sentence, they showed us it over the course of many scenes.

That's not something that can be done to just anyone. Remember Rey was able to resist Kylo. Doubt anyone could do it to Vader.

This is my thought. Either that or simply saw him.

There would need to be a good reason why he selected her to leave alive when we know he slaughtered all the other younglings.

Rewatching and I'm reminded that in the opening it's the first time we've ever seen live action, "real" clone troopers. Every trooper in the prequels was CGI.

I think that distinction goes to that short flashback we see from Grogu's memories in BOBF.

I liked it overall. Wasn't as good as Mando but it held my attention and was fun.

I think the Third Sister is poorly acted. Any scene she's in is definitely the stuff I liked the least. Her running on the roof scene was cringey.

The forest chase scene with Leia was bad. Not sure how they thought that was fine.

Episode 2 ended in a cool way. Hoping Vader is done well. It was nostalgic seeing McGregor again.

I don't know who approved the leia and Vespa scenes.

The scene with Leia running is forgiveable I think just because it's a little kid. But yeah, it's not a strong suit.

We all are sick of the super tight shakycam ****s, but those do a lot to cover up flaws in these sorts of action scenes.

The idea of a 10 year old Leia evading captors is fine, but if the actor can't do it on scene then you gotta re-write it.

This isn't that big of a deal, but it's just attention to detail. Just off the top of my head why not have the forest be so thick that only she, because she explores it all the time and is small, knows where the gaps and holes are.

They had some of that but half the time she was juking dudes in the open like Barry Sanders.

I watched Reva do it on my TV last night in episode 2 of Kenobi. You sure you are watching same show?

She read Haja's mind and got Kenobi and Leias location. Right there in the alley.

Think spilner was saying there is a difference between reading a non-jedi mind vs Vader or Kenobi's, and we have no evidence she did either of those
