Obi-Wan/Vader rematch is official news, and thus doesn't need to be spoiler-tagged.

But anything else in response to helloimustbegoing's spoiler text should remain in spoiler text.

Pretty simple.

That said, I don't think any of our "guidelines" have been violated, so I don't know what the fuss is about.

This doesn't even make sense and honestly I'm more willing to believe a credible Sat Wars YouTuber/Twitter person on star wars leaks than any major publisher

But that's just me….

I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but if The Hollywood Reporter reports it, it's almost assuredly true. The trades (THR, Variety, Deadline, and The Wrap) are all but official outlets, and don't pull the trigger on a story or news unless they're 99.9% certain. In over 20 years, I've seen them get something flat-out wrong maybe twice, if that.

I haven't watched clone wars or rebels but I did see the obi-wan/maul scene on tattoine. I don't think that scene would really make any sense if they made Maul the villain here unless the worked in the final confrontation into the live action series.

I tend to agree. And personally, while there's more about Maul's story that I'd like to see (thinking about his appearance in Solo), I think they've covered the Kenobi/Maul relationship to a very satisfying standpoint as a fan. I'd hate to see it overplayed and ruined.

Sorry that wasn't in response to that tweet. (Although I am a bit bummed that all the major trades would confirm the absence of a major character and remove that speculation completely.)

Based on the previous page it looked like people were about to start openly discussing leaks, and hello's post made it seem like I was the only reason they couldn't be discussed freely.

Took a risk and it looks like it didn't happen, so I'll take my chances for now.

not surprising at all.

Maul/Kenobi has already been addressed in Rebels. An appearance approx 9 years before the Rebels story would make absolutely no sense given the existing storyline.

that and Ray Park has been somewhat "cancelled".

They wouldn't have to meet for him to be in the series.

I will say I seriously question them saying that Maul would've been the main antagonist for the series. They would never break canon so blatantly.

true, but if you look at the existing timelines that have developed in the last 2 years with Crimson Dawn in the SW comics, with Qu'ra (sp?), as well as what has been told in Rebels, Maul has been mostly bookended out of relevant storyline for this time period.

Just was a bit more excited when I thought this show wouldn't have Favreau or Filoni's touch on it. Just specifically to get another take on the universe, no reason to just let one or two people control it all.
The premise that the trailer shows us is enough to look forward to on it's own though.
I just don't really need every character from an animated show to make it to live action either

More from Making Star Wars Net (spoilerish)

Obi-Wan knows a Jawa who steals his stuff and sells it back to him.
Obi-Wan buys the model T-16 that we later see Luke playing with in ANH and tries to give it to him but Owen tells him to **** off so he leaves it on the Lars homestead for Luke to find.
Sounds like Indira Varma's character might be a Rebel spy dressed as an Imp officer.
The flashback with Hayden sounds like it is Anakin and Obi-Wan sparring in the Jedi Temple after the events of AOTC and Obi-Wan uses that memory to figure out how to beat Vader in a duel, because it sounds like the first time they fight, possibly on a ship, Vader beats him down.

This would make Rey and Ben Solo first cousins (once removed)….which feels very Star Wars haha.

How many other force babies does Palpatine have spread-out thru the galaxy? Episode X will just be about sorting out the legal claims to his estate. Does he have any ownership in a highly valuable sports franchise?

Then the whole story was about the "Palpatines" and the movie should be "The Rise of Palpatine" would have been a better name anyway.

A bit more from Hayden's interview in EW

Quote:

"Well, without getting into too much detail, it was amazing. It's a great honor to get to put that suit on."

He went on to describe how his role in Obi-Wan Kenobi is a natural continuation of his journey from Revenge of the Sith:

Quote:

"It was mostly a lot of excitement because I had spent enough time with this character and felt like I knew him, and coming back to it felt very natural in a lot of ways. And I was just really excited to get to come in and play Darth Vader at this point in the timeline because it did feel like a natural continuation of your journey with the character. And that was very meaningful for me."
The whole experience was very surreal. Just the nature of coming back after all this time. It's such a unique opportunity one that both Ewan and I were very grateful for.

One of the things I loved so much about working on Star Wars projects is just that shared excitement. That everyone's real excited to be there. You feel that energy, and that's a really special thing."

"I don't know what I can share in terms of behind-the-scenes type stuff because I don't think they want me saying too much. But I can tell you the first time that I saw Ewan as Obi-Wan again, that was a very special moment for me and one that I'll remember for a very, very long time."

For this week's ranking, an easy one.

Rank your top 5 characters.

1. Obi-Wan
2. Anakin / Vader
3. Luke
4. Yoda
5. Han

Not gonna lie, strongly debated putting Mando at 5. Sacrilege? Maybe so. But man I love Mando. Let's call him 5B.

Qui-Gon just missed the cut at 6.

Bonus Round:

Your top 5 characters not in the Skywalker Saga (I-IX)?

1. Mando
2. Andor
3. Grogu
4. Ahsoka
5. Mayfeld (Bill Burr)
