Holy *****..

The first half a measure of Duel of the Fates, and I was already sold.

Part of me is so pumped for this... the other part of me is so afraid of watching it, getting invested in a great character or two only to see them die.

I've always liked Star Wars, but I would never call myself a superfan, and definitely don't know a lot of the canon, so someone help me out.

I was always told about this "Rule of 2", when it comes to the Sith. Are these inquisitors truly Sith, or just force sensitive? How are are there so many Sith like people who are badass so early after the fall of the Jedi?

I'll let someone else talk about the rule of two (more of a guideline?). But some of the inquisitors are corrupted/fallen Jedi or padawan, so they definitely are attune to the force.

They're not on par with a real Sith or even a quality Jedi. When Ahsoka fights 2 of them in Rebels, she beats the **** out of them. I would suspect Obi-Wan, when pushed into action, even after a decade without doing much or any lightsaber fighting, will whip their asses.

That seems to make complete sense for what the trailer is trying to convey. It shows us everything going on in the galaxy to hunt down Jedi and finally ends with that shot on Obi Wan, saying Hope Survives.

So when Disney says this is a "limited" series does that mean they already know how many episodes/seasons they want to do unlike Mando/BoBF? Honestly they could milk this series alone for 5+ seasons and I'd watch every single one.

Watching even a few episodes of Rebels, which is tough because the lightsabers are so thick, will give you a great perspective of the Inquisitors can do and can't do, and how their structure works. Plus Sarah Michelle Gellar voices one.

Because I'm in the mood, things I remember loving about the lead-up...

- Thanksgiving '98, a bunch of us going to see the first trailer in front of Enemy of the State. Then, getting interviewed by the local newspaper on our way out, asking if we had bought tickets just to watch the trailer. I told the reporter yes, and when she asked my name, I gave her the name of one of our friends who wasn't with us, who thought Star Wars was for dorks. I then went on and on about how much Star Wars meant to me, and the article made the front page the next day, using our friend's name. He was not amused.

- Trying to download something called "QuickTime" so I could then download the first trailer to watch on the family computer... something I didn't even know was possible, but was out of my mind excited for. Though, the trailer was a whopping 3 MB or so, and took multiple tries and multiple hours to finally download, due to me getting kicked off AOL every time our other phone line rang.

- Buying the Vanity Fair issue with all the incredible Annie Leibovitz first-look photography from the Tatooine set.

- My weekly-turned-daily internet sessions, where I'd check Ain't It Cool News, Corona's Coming Attractions, Dark Horizons, and TheForce.net for the latest news and rumors.

- Recording the full/second trailer from E! News, to VHS, so we could rewind and watch it over and over again.

- The mind-blowing Dual of the Fates music video premiering on TRL on MTV.

- Going to Hastings the day all the TPM merch dropped, to check out all the new books and what not.

- Eating sh*t tons of Taco Bell, in order to collect all the TPM game pieces.

- Finally getting to watch the 60 Minutes piece with George Lucas at Skywalker Ranch, about the making of the movie, which featured a ton of new/awesome footage, after my mom forgot to record it, and my dad made fun of me for getting mad at my mom for forgetting to record "some nerdy Star Wars thing."

- Skipping school at lunch on May 19th to go buy 20 tickets to that night's premiere at the mall Cinemark.

- The palpable buzz between me and 19 of my friends finally sitting down to watch the movie.





... all culminating in the utter shame and disappointment we felt when the lights came up.

I think we might have seen ONE tiny bit of flashback there. What looks like maybe the tactical droid talking to the stormtrooper... the helmet COULD be commando trooper armor, but definitely isn't normal Phase I or Phase II clone armor. Probably just a stormtrooper.

It in the next shot the trooper we see has blue marks which might indicate a 501st trooper.

That droid's markings translate from aurebesh to "NED" then a letter I can't decipher.

Yes, "limited series" almost always means one season. Granted, every so often, if a limited series is a massive smash hit, and all creatives involved think they have additional story to tell, and want to come back, there will be another season. Big Little Lies comes to mind. That said, it's super rare, and I would be shocked if we ever got a second season of this series.
