Kliff has a track record of never winning dick as a head coach. When you have Pat Mahomes on your team in the B12 and still can't win, you suck. Love the idea of KK as OC, but no thanks on HC

And we have the longest tenured GM in all sports.

This now means that Dallas, the team that went to 16 of the first NFC Championship games in the Super Bowl era, now has the longest gap since an NFC Championship appearance in the NFC.

thanks a lot, Jerrah

There is a very small and remote chance that Dan Quinn might have been responsible for the Cowboys recent success.

Yep. Foreskins in the championship game before Dallas. F that

While getting a haircut today, my barber and I were talking about the fact that it's been almost 30 years since Dallas even made the NFC Championship. It's so disappointing. There have been some very good Cowboys teams in that span too. The one common denominator is Jerry. Even when he's gone, his goofball son won't be any better unless he just happens to hire an amazing GM.

Bob Sturm is the only halfway intelligent sports person left on the ticket and he's right. Jerry Jones is making millions off of dumbass "fans" that think the Cowboys are good. Jerry Jones is the rain doctor that pulls into town promising that he can deliver rain for the crops if you just give him the money. Jerry Jones is a dumbass and people keep paying him.

Not only do we have the longest drought, if this tweet is accurate, the gap between us and the 15th place team is 15 years:

But guys, Jerry has 5 division titles in 10 years. Exceptional job! (according to some)

Not that either is or should be the barometer of success, but making the conference title game is no more or less arbitrary a metric for that than winning a division title.

The reality is it's just a stat that gives people that hate the Cowboys and self loathing Cowboys fans something to go on about. And the argument will be "haven't made a superbowl in X years" if they make the NFC title game and lose. If they had made the NFC title game but not won a division title in the last 30 years, that would be the argument.

Go win a superbowl, or go work towards doing it next year like 31 other teams. Ranking relative successes short of that in professional sports is a silly exercise.

The reality is competing for and winning championships is what the Cowboys (used) to be known for.

The reality is every team in NFC has been closer to playing in the Super Bowl this century than the cowboys have.

Bragging about winning division titles is something bad franchises do.

Not really, as many teams that make the conference title game have no shot whatsoever of winning a title. That's often just about fortune in terms of seeding draw and injuries.

For example, the 2007, 2014 and 2022 Cowboys were FAR better and more equipped to win a title than the 2019 Titans or the 2024 Redskins.

Making the conference title game in a vacuum doesn't really mean anything.

Bragging about doing anything short of winning a title is what teams that don't win titles do.

And for the record, by no metric is Dallas a bad franchise unless you're willing to label about 22 other franchises bad.

Being able to say your team made the conference championship game shows they have taken big steps forward and knew how to advance in the playoffs despite not expected to; which is the opposite of the Cowboys.

While I don't disagree that it's a marker of success and improvement, especially for the cowboys who haven't made one in 30 years, at the end of the day it's all about super bowls for every NFL franchise. Nobody gives a rats ass that the bills won four straight AFC conference championships. Everyone just remembers that they lost four super bowls. It's an arbitrary stat in the NFL.

People remember in tiers. Whether be remembered for getting close and not winning or remembered for always failing in the first round despite being worth $10 billion?

That's a fair and valid point. No argument, and everyone has their own markers for success.

And again, let's stop pretending that if they correctly call it a catch in 2014 and Dallas goes on to lose to Seattle in the conference title game any of you would be behaving differently. None of our fans that go on about this actually care about that as a meaningful metric, it's just about being incessantly negative. If it weren't that it would be something else. It's just so preposterously transparent:

Ok. Not making it past the second round in 30 years shows you're an underachiever and woefully mismanaged. Mathematically the odds of not making a conference championship game is like 2%. Aggies and cowboys do less with more annually and all the leadership cares about is money, not winning.

Even if the Dez catch was called correctly Packers would've had 4 minutes left to get a FG for the win. Horrible call but wouldn't have sealed the game by any means.

2019 Titans beat the GOAT and the MVP, both on the road.

2024 Commanders have won back to back road playoff games.

End of the day results on the field is all that matters, and the Cowboys have one of the worst playoff records in the league the last 25+ years.

Jadon Daniels may be end up being top tier QB but it's way too early for it to be fact. Remember when RG3 burst on the scene, and eventhough be was Baylol , we all knew he was really good? How did that work out? One spectacular season doesn't mean all that much.

Although Hurts has always been this way, Moore deserves some credit for once again directing an offense led by a QB who really can't throw. That said, I don't see any evidence that Moore can direct a vertical passing attack with a marginal run game.
