Well, I don't have an issue, at face value.
The guy is a physical freak that most of the league thought was a top 50 type player. He's on a rookie cheap contract for two more years. They also got a 7th rounder back so the value chart makes this essentially a 5th rounder. Maybe a bit rich, but it's not crazy on the surface.
The issue, and rightly so, is you can't just take this deal at face value and not factor in the other failures by this organization.

Yeah, it's prob a round rich but getting a 7th back helps a little.
The other thing is the cowboys have like 10 picks in next years draft. I don't have an isssue turning one of those into Mingo and getting a jump start on seeing if he's got anything.

This - waves arms in every direction – is what happens when your franchise loses credibility with the public. The benefit of the doubt has left the building and rightfully so. But, I don't hate a trade like this personally. 😀

My view of these things is sort of skewed by fantasy football...there is a decent amount of data that shows that if a WR flops their rookie year, it is unlikely they amount to much later in their career...but I guess that is me looking at things more from a perspective of can they be a fantasy WR1 or WR2 rather than a serviceable NFL WR.Macarthur said:

Why is it so hard for this organization to just accept that it isn't happening this year, keep the picks and tank into the top 5?

I wouldn't argue your point. I guess since you have this guy cheap for two more years, I see this pretty much like a WR pick in the 25 draft that you're getting half a half a season early.
I guess it beats Jerry taking a guy with a horrible injury with that 4th round pick. Lucky we still have our 2nd rounder for that

The Panthers were willing to move Mingo because he got passed on the depth chart by a UDFA who played college football at Holy Cross. I wouldn't give a 4th for Mingo in a dynasty FF league and Jerry just did it in real life.
