They probably geo fenced this guy from the night of the crime.. ran his ID and thought they had it. Delivery guy probably had some weird routes locked on and the rest is history.

I thought someone called in a tip on this guy and said Nancy Guthrie was in the mother-in-laws house...This is Bizarre...The media is insane turning this into a circus too.

How is it that the FBI or local cops have no clue what type of automobiles approached or left areas near Guthrie's house at 2am? Seriously wtf?

It's dark in the desert at night, and no lights in the neighborhood.

Plus I noticed that the homes in the subdivision are set back pretty far from the street so any cars coming and going won't be picked up by front porch cameras.

Tucson outlawed traffic cameras (both red-light and speed cameras) in November 2015 when voters passed Proposition 201 with a 2-to-1 margin. The ban led to the immediate cessation of ticket issuance from the city's eight intersection cameras and two mobile speed-check vans. Following the vote, the city shut down its photo enforcement program. ADOT have intersection cameras that are nothing more than motion detectors to time the traffic lights, they do not record.

If they want to solve this, Savannah needs to offer at least 1 million dollar reward for any tips that leads to the abductor. That will get the attention of the local gangsters and low lifes...Somebody knows who did it, they need to stop screwing around, the FBI and local police got jack squat...

If that gets nothing after a few days, offer 2 million, there's a dollar figure she can reach that someone will bite...

Fox is interviewing Harvey Levin from TMZ right now.

Levin is acting like an idiot - "I made a promise on this and I can't break it". Totally inserting himself and his trash TV show into this story.

Not sure why they're getting the ransom notes sent to them - almost like they're a part of the whole thing.

There's no chance she's alive. This ransom is a sick opportunist or a killer. If they had her alive, this is done a week ago

NBC cut into their Olympics primetime event for like 5 minutes last night. Shocking. When I saw the breaking news pop up, I was expecting to find out we had just bombed something.

Proof of life would have been simple to accomplish and expected with a ransom demand of that size. Could be as simple as including some family detail in the ransom note that only Nancy would know. So far nothing and the only explanation is they can't provide it.

I have not read all 28 pages but why is there such a fuss over this elderly lady? People go missing every day with most of them being children and yet this is making national news being carried on every channel, we are bringing in the FBI, breaking into normal TV schedules to announce a possible suspect is in custody, etc. This smacks of elitism since it's the mother of a TV anchor. I hope they find her alive and well, but we should spend more time trying to find missing kids that are at a much greater risk of sexual assault, slavery, etc. IMO.

For the same reason grown men follow the every move of a bunch of 18 to 22 year old kids that play sports. People in the limelight, and their families, tend to gather more attention than the unknown folks.

Couple of thoughts:

- These ransom notes could very well just be scams, right? Ask for $1 MM to be deposited in a Cayman Islands account - move it between three other anonymous accounts in other countries and profit?

- She almost certainly is a dead. Whoever has her body is probably just trying to get some $$$ and run.

i was thinking about best strategy here. She needs to turn the tables on not only the kidnappers but also Sheriff and FBI. She should say something like this:

Mom, if you're watching, we love you. And this... well, this is what waits for the man that took him. This is your ransom. Two million dollars in unmarked bills, just like you wanted. But this is as close as you'll ever get to it. You'll never see one dollar of this money, because no ransom will ever be paid for my mom. Not one dime, not one penny. Instead, I'm offering this money as a reward on your head. Dead or alive, it doesn't matter. So congratulations, you've just become a two million dollar lottery ticket... except the odds are much, much better. Do you know anyone that wouldn't turn you in for two million dollars? I don't think you do. I doubt it. So wherever you go and whatever you do, this money will be tracking you down for all time. And to ensure that it does, to keep interest alive, I'm running a full-page ad in every major newspaper every Sunday... for as long as it takes. But... and this is your last chance... you return my mom, alive, uninjured, I'll withdraw the bounty. With any luck you can simply disappear. Understand... you will never see this money. Not one dollar. So you still have a chance to do the right thing. If you don't, well, then, God be with you, because nobody else on this Earth will be.

But, since she doesn't seem very intimidating, she should have someone else deliver the message. Someone that can pull off "unhinged". Maybe someone like Mel Gibson.

it's all just so ironic. You have Savannah, who knows the insanity of the mainstream media and how they'll monetize every last drop of an engaging news story and knows all the behind the scenes.....and then sees it play out in her own life. You've got to wonder what she's thinking on that front -- does she find all the attention genuine, or is she deep down somewhat disgusted knowing that it's all for ratings and $?

Great point. I do wonder if once this story is concluded, does she just roll back into the propaganda, clickbait world. Politically speaking will she have the same enthusiasm going after Trump and his DOJ since they've been all in?

For most folks this would be a life changer.

yeah, thought about that too. With her popularity, I could see her gravitating towards her own talk show type format where she can control the narrative more and not have editors and producers jamming the pre-scripted stories of the day down her throat. Or, maybe she leaves media altogether. That would seemingly be the more human reaction.

THIS!!! MSM doesn't care as much when an illegal kills a US citizen, that story gets 2-3 paragraphs for 1 day. But OMG one of OUR moms goes missing…..
Yep. It's ego. Maybe 10% distraction from fraud, but Olympics drama serve that purpose just as easily.

"News" attracts narcissistic personalities who use "conveying information" as a cheat code to unearned fame & spotlight. It's little wonder these folks froth at the opportunity to use their positions to talk about their favorite subject: themselves.

Fox should be the outlier, but their joining in just highlights the east coast club-member mentality their folks share, too.
