His car could have been the one a neighbor reported as suspicious that was seen at the Circle K the morning she went missing.

I have not read all 28 pages but why is there such a fuss over this elderly lady? People go missing every day with most of them being children and yet this is making national news being carried on every channel, we are bringing in the FBI, breaking into normal TV schedules to announce a possible suspect is in custody, etc. This smacks of elitism since it's the mother of a TV anchor. I hope they find her alive and well, but we should spend more time trying to find missing kids that are at a much greater risk of sexual assault, slavery, etc. IMO.

THIS!!! MSM doesn't care as much when an illegal kills a US citizen, that story gets 2-3 paragraphs for 1 day. But OMG one of OUR moms goes missing…..

Yes! This coverage has gotten out of control, but this is one of their own so therefore it is wall to wall coverage.
The MSM likes things that drag out. They want your clicks, refreshes, eyes, and attention over a long period of time.

All those things are true. On top of that, those network morning shows still draw a lot of eyeballs. As long as Savannah Guthrie is tied to the Today show, the viewers are going to be asking "What is the latest on her mother?". She has been on that show for a long time and invited the cameras into her home and her family life. This is a creation of the industry.
I can't think of the last time a high profile case had someone arrested that didn't end up being the one charged. They usually are pretty good about connecting the dots before they make an arrest. This one just seems like a huge screw up or the dots they connected just randomly hit on the wrong guy.
The Guthrie family has to be in panic. They were before but this shows that they aren't close to figuring this out.

How would they know unless someone in the public reported seeing a vehicle? One person did and cops tracked it to Circle K and obtained a video but sure looks like it didn't lead anywhere.

If you pulled this stunt in my neighborhood, we have two videos and LPR, before you get to my house and most of the neighborhood. Then the bad the bad guys leave; more of the same. Then there's anything that my neighbors cams pic up. Then theres the cameras and LPR that the locals, state or businesses have put up. I live in a rural ish area too.
