Well I wonder if these so called criminals are really asking for payment in Bitcoin, because I believe this will be their downfall. A lot of people are still under the impression that Bitcoin is secure and untraceable. Bitcoin is very traceable. All transactions are recorded on a public, immutable ledger some call it a blockchain that anyone can view. While transactions do not list names, they use pseudonymous wallet addresses, which law enforcement and forensics tools can analyze to link to real world identities, especially when funds pass through regulated exchanges. Every single Bitcoin transaction, including the sender and recipient addresses, is visible on the blockchain. I don't give a damn what the online wannabe experts say, Bitcoin is not truly anonymous; it is pseudonymous. Even though you can create a wallet without providing your real name, your transaction history can be traced and linked back to you if you use your wallet on a regulated platform. Think whatever or believe whatever you may attempt to obscure your identity using privacy enhancing tools like mixers, but these do not guarantee total anonymity from advanced forensics lice the government has and uses. They are tracing Bitcoin criminals all the damn time. I'm still under the belief this poor lady is dead and it's never been about returning her, it's always been about the Benjamins
