Thanks. May want to just give the name of the the site instead of the link. An accidental click could give the spoiler, looks like.

"Liam Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn first "appears" to Obi-Wan Kenobi as a voice during the lightsaber duel with Darth Vader. This voice coaches and inspires Kenobi to prevail during that battle."

Qui Gon giving Obi Wan coaching on how to duel a Sith?!

That's like Jimbo asking Sumlin for advice on how to beat LSU.

From an interview with Rupert Friend who plays the Grand Inquisitor

"If it's possible to be any more excited thank folks already are, I would be. I think it's one of the most thrilling additions to the Star Wars canon, I think Ewan McGregor is doing things with that role that is a dream for fans of the original films… We can't obviously have Alec Guinness back, but I just think Ewan was absolutely born to play that part.

But wonderful cameos from people I obviously can't tell you, Easter eggs galore and… yeah, it's a thrilling ride.

I always thought the series / movie specific thread was the place for leaks or potential spoilers. The master thread is the safe space. Obviously, spoilers (not baseless speculation) needs to be entered within a spoilers tag.

Yeah, I think we talked about keeping the show spoilers/speculation off of the big tent (Star Wars, Marvel MCU, etc ) threads.

From EW - Ewan McGregor watched all 9 movies to get ready for Obi-Wan, while Hayden did the same and watched Clone Wars and Rebels to get a feel for the expanded arcs of Anakin/Vader.

Holy crap Hayden....

There are 133 episodes of Clone Wars and 75 episodes of Rebels. With no commercial breaks watching on Disney + the average length of each episode is about 22 minutes.

That means with both series combined of 208 episodes at 22 minutes a piece equates to approximately 76 hours. Then when you combine the 9 films that equates to approximately a little over 20.5 hours.

So combined that 97 hours of film/tv series to watch. Now let's assume you watched 6 hours/day (picked that cause holy crap you'd need breaks to digest all that you're watching if you're doing this for work and for a character you're trying to re-familiarize yourself with).....

That would be a little over 2 weeks (16 days about) to get through all of that....which honestly is a shorter amount of time than i was expecting when i was figuring this out.....dude probably just said, "hey, give me 3 weeks to watch all of this."

course why they were watching the sequel trilogy i have no idea.....prequels, OT, and clone wars/rebels were the most important....

I read the entire Obi-Wan thread yesterday while waiting for a tow truck and watched the trailer 6 times. Not sure I can make it another 5 weeks without my hype machine running over. I feel like am going to want to watch it frame by frame to see what's going on in every tiny scene.

I also feel like Joel Edgerton is going to steal the show when he's on camera. He's such a bad-ass in Zero Dark Thirty and Great Gatsby as a physical actor. I would love love love some kind of partial ending where one of the Inquisitors is on Tatooine trying to bully the populace into giving up what they know and Owen goes from pacifist to Rebel and leads the citizens to take down the inquisitor in mob rule.

So would I just on that off chance he says "Oh yeah I knew about Mortis. George told me all about it after I was cast and that being the chosen one was all tied up in this fantasy tale with Force elementals."

I think Hayden just spoiled us without actually spoiling us, kind of like Rosario Dawson did a couple of years ago with this pic.

You don't watch all of your character's arc in Clone Wars and Rebels because you're going to be in 3-4 episodes of a limited series.

You do it because some time next month at Celebration, you're going to come on stage with Filoni and Favreau when they announce that after they finish Ahsoka, they're doing a limited series that is essentially Vader: Year One with you as the star, and they're bringing back Ian McDiarmid to play Palpatine as well, as hinted at by the man himself in this interview.

[But] of course [Darth] Vader is back in the new [Obi-Wan Kenobi] television series, so I suppose it's not impossible that one day his mentor might be discovered once again skulking in the shadows.

We'll see a whole other side of Anakin/Vader in Obi-Wan and a little bit more in Ahsoka, and then we'll get one of those things we always dreamed about - Vader in his first tour of duty as the enforcer of the Emperor, crushing skulls on the outside, hating himself with every waking breath on the inside.

We heard earlier this year that Favreau signed some mega-deal with Disney with a whole bunch of Star Wars commitments. Shaping a Vader series pre-ANH and pre-Obi-Wan series has got to be it.

As much as we'd all love that, I do wonder if Vader is not a character that works better in supporting roles than as a protagonist. You don't see many shows that feature a full on villain in the main role, at least not without a ton of inner conflict, or one that shows a downfall like BB.

It would have to be a great story for it to work I think, because we know there is "no conflict" in Vader up to the point of ROTJ. So other than just Vader kicking some ass, the meat of the story would have to come from the plot and supporting characters.

I don't know if you can put in much of an arc for him given that he's already murdered children before even putting on the suit.

Not really sure how you make a full blown villain it's own show. He isn't an anti-hero taking down other evil dudes. He is murdering innocents in the name of the emperor and we know that they largely have little
Opposition. One episode could be badass but where do you go from there.

Maybe he lived an eternity ( or at least a limited series) in the look from Luke to Palps to Luke.

I would have so much appreciation for Anakin / Vader in his basement on Mustafar trying to piece together Jedi clues across the galaxy.

*comic book guy sequence start*

Worst poster/fight scene pose ever. Everyone knows it's canon that Vader can't lift his arms over his head while using a lightsaber.
