Those of you who don't like cheering in movie theaters sound like real fun people to be around.
"The last thing I want to experience in a room full of people is communal joy."
Such a weird, grumpy take.
I admit, even when people are clapping and cheering and screaming their heads off in, say, Endgame, I don't personally join in, but it sure is fun as hell to experience and be around in the moment.

Like, I bought a Top Gun: Maverick poster. I honestly can’t remember the last time I did that for a new movie.

TOP GUN: MAVERICK is probably the best Hollywood action movie since Mission: Impossible — Fallout. I wonder what they have in common.

My review of the exhilarating, beautifully controlled TOP GUN: MAVERICK, the rare throwback that feels like an advance: https://t.co/xSMRDYqWDg

TOP GUN: MAVERICK is miles beyond the first film in every conceivable way. Pays respect while forging its own path with blistering editing, thunderous sound & sweeping music. A big film with even bigger emotions that should be seen on the biggest screen. One of Tom Cruise’s best. pic.twitter.com/7Z8cDSYHV2

If TOP GUN felt the need for speed, the vastly superior TOP GUN: MAVERICK mostly feels the need for Tom Cruise, delivering slick thrills and self-worship. It's going to make a fortune. My @THR reviewhttps://t.co/gO3HCMavgG

Was so bowled over by Top Gun: Maverick all day yesterday I forgot to do Wordle and lost my 129-day streak. There’s your review

As for my own review? TOP GUN: MAVERICK is absolutely incredible and it will go down as one of the great action movie sequels along with T2, Aliens, and The Dark Knight. Give it a Best Picture nomination and bow down to the GOAT himself, @TomCruise. WOW! https://t.co/ZproA66ByO

Yes, #TopGunMaverick is a really entertaining movie. But it’s also maybe the most personal thing Tom Cruise has ever made? It’s all one big metaphor for Tom Cruise’s career and his vision of what movies should be. https://t.co/S7KQR2oN6R

Is TOP GUN: MAVERICK the best/most satisfying blockbuster since FURY ROAD? Since I saw it I've had the same, must see it again/feel all the feels obsessive compulsive preoccupation that is otherwise unfamiliar.
— Josh Horowitz (@joshuahorowitz) May 12, 2022
Don't get me wrong, FURY ROAD is an all timer but...
It's true, it's true! Top Gun: Maverick is the most fun I've had at the pictures in a long, long, long, long (long) time. Go see it, then see it again, then go home and dream about it, bake it a cake and declare yourselves wed. A proper, full-fat, note-perfect blockbuster

Top Gun: Maverick is going to be your dad’s new favorite movie, and maybe yours too https://t.co/ATR477Qf9M

My 5-star review of Top Gun: Maverick, which is the best blockbuster I’ve seen in years https://t.co/YgOG66RqcP

Wrote briefly on TOP GUN: MAVERICK in our round-up, but twenty-four hours on I'm doubly resolute in crowning it best of 2022 (so far, etc). The first proper emotionally driven, big stakes, loud-af blockbuster I've walked away from exhilarated in *years* https://t.co/QvQsiTkb1z

Overjoyed to report that Top Gun: Maverick is the finest action film since Mad Max: Fury Road. See this thing in IMAX enormo-vision eleventy flajillion times. https://t.co/QuPaktWyn8

Music video makes the song better (definitely more shown here than in trailer so beware)

There are no moments when I was thinking this looks like a CGI cartoon, like so many "blockbuster" movies do today. It all looks so real my stomach was in knots the whole time. Again, this is how it's done.

Tom Cruise's 'Top Gun: Maverick' is an audio/visual treat and generally well-made summer blockbuster even as it becomes a 'Rise Of Skywalker'-style nostalgic ode to itself.

Is 'Top Gun: Maverick' the movie that will mark a generation? No. Its predecessor will always hold that title. Is it a fun Hollywood film? Absolutely. Does it have substance? Not really.
Nah, wait until it shows up one lazy Saturday afternoon on your local CW station.double aught said:
So, should I go see this?

This will be the first movie since pre-Covid that will stir the public through word of mouth for a long time at the box office. I simply don't think a lot of people remember what a blockbuster looks like that carries both young and old generations alike. It is going to be massive.
